Because Coronado has been running for more than three years, it is
sometimes difficult for new arrivals to integrate themselves into the action. There
is so much backstory involved in the characters and our ship that sometimes a new
simmer may feel a little lost! This history has been provided to allow you to "catch
up" with what has happened with both the sim and the simmers since our launch. Please
note that this history only mentions the previous incarnation of Coronado if
it is relevant to this one. You can learn more about that ship's history at the
U.S.S. Coronado, NCC-63100
website.
The history of U.S.S. Coronado is told in two timelines, one of which takes
place in the time frame of Star Trek®, the other of which is detailed in real life
times and dates. Note that until 2375, the Coronado timeline matches the standard
Trek timeline. After 2375, the
Official UCIP Timeline
takes precedence. If you have any questions about the Coronado sim, please feel
free to bring them to the Captain, XO, or any long-time member of the sim! We're more
than happy to wax poetic about our past exploits!
If you think that there is something that should be added to either of these timelines,
or wish to correct an entry, please do not hesitate to contact the Captain and inform
him! Hope the timelines are helpful!

U.S.S. Horizon, Daedalus class, visits Sigma Iotia II. Soon afterwards, while exploring the
Telvan Nebula, the ship transmits a distress call by convential radio. The conventional radio signal
is not picked up by Federation beacons until almost 100 years later. The ship is presumed destroyed,
and several missions are dispatched to its last ports of call, none of which find the ship.
The ship actually makes first contact with an extremely unusual form of alien life. Part neural
net, part insect, the lifeform is found to be infected with the parasites that later make an
attempt to control Starfleet Command. Because the Horizon crew is hosting these
parasites, the lifeform places them into suspended animation. More than 200 years later, U.S.S.
Coronado discovers these lost souls, rescues them from the parasites, and brings them
home... hopefully to start new lives in the 24th century. |
| Jan 2367 | |
The massacre at Wolf 359 takes place. Starfleet's single most disastrous defeat, the action was
nevertheless crucial in the prevention of the assimiliation of Earth. The Borg cube that later
destroyed 39 of 40 Starfleet vessels in this system is later destroyed by the U.S.S. Enterprise,
NCC-1701-D. U.S.S. Coronado discovers a second cube in the Barnard's Star system and is
successful in destroying it. ("Second Chance for Glory," Coronado episode 102; see Sep 2373
for more information.) |
| Aug 2373 | |
Captain Brian Aldur, formerly Chief Helmsman of U.S.S. Gryphon and a former Starfleet
Intelligence Strike Team Leader, takes command of U.S.S. Coronado, NCC-63100. The former CO, Captain
James Whitmore, is killed during a Romulan Tal Shiar attack on the ship ("The Way We Were";
Coronado episode 101; August 1997).Aldur commands the ship for the duration of a
two-year tour, until July 2375, a time that included much of the Dominion War. |
Aug 2373 - Jul 2376 | |
The missions of U.S.S. Coronado, NCC-63100, under the command of Captain Brian
Aldur (later Fleet Captain Brian Aldur), begin. This Coronado is a New Orleans
class frigate carrying four companies of Starfleet Marines and a top-secret temporal
drive called the "Jaunt." Coro is under Aldur's command for two years, during
which the missions below are undertaken... |
| Sep 2373 | |
While on a scientific research mission in the Barnard's Star system, the U.S.S. Yosemite
discovers debris from two ships in the system. One is the remains of a Borg cube. The other is
debris from U.S.S. Coronado... (See Jan 2367 for more information.) |
| Feb 2374 | |
Following a suspicious drive accident, Coronado and her crew are thrown far back into
time on their longest Jaunt yet -- 5000 years into the past, and more than three billion light
years from home! Coming to rest in the far-flung D7 galaxy, Coro finds herself caught
between two sides of a raging galactic rebellion ("Join the Cause," Coronado episode 111;
February 1999). The crew finds a way home using a dangerous piece of Imperial technology... |
| May 2374 | |
Coronado successfully returns from her Jaunt into the D7 galaxy to find that three months
have passed while she was away ("Instant Replay," Coronado episode 115; May 1999). The ship,
still critically damanged from its journey to the past, undergoes an extensive refitting, emerging
from Starbase 247 six weeks later as a Type 5 New Orleans class frigate ("New Beginnings," Coronado
shore leave episode). |
| Jul 2374 | |
Coronado is called to Camelyn, to assist in mediating a brewing Civil War on that world.
Lt. Commander DuLac's father is now King of this Federation associate member, and DuLac must choose
between his oaths as a Starfleet officer and his duties to his planet. ("Momento Mori," Coronado
episode 109.) |
| Feb 2375 | |
U.S.S. Coronado participates in Operation Rainbow Five, the overall operation intended to
drive the Dominion from the Alpha Quadrant. First participating in the attack on the Chin'Toka system,
Coro is selected as the command ship for one of the task groups of the Second Fleet. The
ship and crew capture a Breen ship, and are part of the task force that
invades Cardassia Prime itself! |
| May 2375 | |
U.S.S. Coronado is instrumental in the intact capture of a Breen warship. Technology
from this vessel, when combined with a captured Jem'Hadar vessel with similar energy dissipator
weaponry installed, allows Starfleet Intelligence to devise a defense for Federation and
Romulan starships. |
| Jun 2375 | |
Operation Rainbow Five culminates with the invasion of Cardassian Prime and the capture
of several Dominion Founders and Vorta who are later tried as prisoners of war. The
remaining Dominion forces are either destroyed or driven back into the Gamma Quadrant.
The Bajoran Wormhole reopens, and the Federation establishes a presence in that part of
the galaxy. |
| Jul 2375 | |
Following the passage of the Temporal Prime Directive, the Jaunt drive is removed from U.S.S.
Coronado. The crew is successful in disabling the final Jaunt prototype, in the
possession of Section 31. This renegade group within Starfleet is disbanded, and Fleet
Captain Aldur's tour as Coronado's Commanding Officer ends. War time ranks are
eliminated, and Captain Brian Aldur is selected as the new Commanding Officer of the
U.S.S. Pegasus, NCC-63847. |
| Apr 2376 | |
U.S.S. Coronado, NCC-63100 is placed under the command of Captain Damian Cash,
under whose command the ship is instrumental in establishing a Federation presence in the
Gamma Quadrant. Captain Cash retains command of the Coro for six years, after
which the ship is decommissioned in April 2382. |
| Jun 2399 | |
The new U.S.S. Coronado, NCC-97901, is commissioned under the command of Commander
Tebrun Lora Kor. The new Coro is the first Federation starship specifically designed
to carry the new Quantum Phase Inversion ("Slipstream") drive technology. Kor, the
officers, and crew are assigned to Starfleet Intelligence for a three-year tour of duty. |
Jul 2399 - present | |
The missions of U.S.S. Coronado, NCC-97901, under the command of Commander Tebrun
Lora Kor (later Captain, then Fleet Captain), begin. The new Coro is under Lora Kor's
command when the following missions are undertaken... |
| Aug 2399 | |
The crew of Coronado first learn of the existence of the mysterious Traxati.
Called "The Killers" by many species, it is unknown what type of lifeform the Traxati are,
only their actions. Coro is introduced to the Traxati by these actions when
neutronium needles utterly destroy planet Zadar III and nearly all of its 825
million inhabitants.
The Traxati apparently do not possess warp drive, but instead rely on
relativistic space travel using unmanned probes. These probes construct "hypergates" --
doorways in space that the Traxati use to travel instantly from one point in space to
another. Their technology also includes the ability to produce and refine neutronium,
and to convert normal matter to its antimatter equivalent. These abilities make them a
fearsome adversary -- ships confronting them are peppered by indestructible neutronium
"bullets" if not converted outright into antimatter... entire planets like Zadar III are
destroyed by massive neutronium/anti-neutronium explosions at their cores! |
| Dec 2399 | |
After a test of the ship's slipstream drive goes horribly wrong, Commander Lora Kor is found
poisoned and in a coma. Lt. Commander Jarod Bentall assumes command and must guide Coronado
home from a distance of 40,000 light-years, a procedure which is successful with the help of
new officer and former Rihannsu Star Empire Officer Donal tr'Ragarok. |
| Mar 2400 | |
Commander Lora Kor recovers, and is later reinstated as the Commanding Officer of
U.S.S. Coronado. Lora Kor retains Lt. Commander Bentall as his Executive Officer. |
| May 2400 | |
Commander Donal tr'Ragarok is kidnapped by the ruthless Rihannsu patriot tr'Idran. This man, a
former member of the Tal'Shiar, forces Ragarok to give tr'Idran time-travel technology, which he
uses to attempt to change the outcome of the 2160s Earth-Romulan war!
Vice Admiral Brian Aldur provides the crew with the time-travelling "Jaunt" technology. Using
this, the Coro crew is able to go back in time and prevent tr'Idran's plan and rescue
Ragarok. The Commander later transfers to Rihannsu Starbase Hama, where he is tragically
murdered. |
| May 2400 | |
Commander Tebrun Lora Kor is promoted to the rank of Captain. Lt. Commander Jarod Bentall
is promoted to the rank of Commander. |
| Jul 2400 | |
Commander Jarod Bentall, Coronado's Executive Officer, is revealed as a mirror
universe spy! The mirror Bentall had replaced the real Commander Bentall several months before,
who had been captured by Captain Jonathan Swift, another mirror universe agent. Commander
Bentall's location is determined and he is released from incarceration. However, Coro's
crew learns that mirror universe agents have been infiltrating our universe for some time.
Captain Swift is taken into custody, but later escapes. |
| Sep 2400 | |
The crew of Coronado discovers that the Traxati are more prevalent than was previously
believed when a series of Traxati hypergates are discovered across much of the "southern" portion
of Federation space near the edge of the Milky Way galaxy. U.S.S. Erasmus discovers that
the Traxati may in fact be from outside the Milky Way, and could be staging a long-term invasion
of the galaxy itself! In addition, Coro uncovers evidence that the Traxati may in
fact be at war with a race of insectoid conquerors... |
| Oct 2400 | |
Coronado and the other ships of Fifth Fleet Task Group 5.4 pass through a Traxati
hypergate, which takes them to another galaxy! In this galaxy, the Traxati apparently reign
supreme or nearly so. We investigate several systems, finding Traxati colony planets orbiting
every star we search. Further, the Traxati are definitely in a war with the insectoid X!chi;
one of the planets we discover is being invaded by the X!chi. The Task Group eventually
returns to Federation space and forcibly closes the gate... |
| Dec 2400 | |
Captain Tebrun Lora Kor is promoted to the rank of Fleet Captain, following the successful
completion of a difficult mission involving a possible alternate-universe version of Vice
Admiral Brian Aldur. The alternate Aldur has terrifying abilities that force Coronado
through time and space to meet future and past starships named Coronado... |
| Jan 2401 | |
Coronado has one of her strangest adventures yet when she discovers "The Thistledown" in
a class 4 nebula near the Klingon border. Though The Thistledown appears to possess only late
middle ages technology, it is in fact one of the oddest planets ever discovered. Apparently,
at least some of the planet's inhabitants can work what Coro's crew could comfortably
call "magic", including the ability to teleport and to use fire and lightning as weapons!
Coro is forced to send an away team down to the planet to rescue our old friend Ka'tek
vestai'Kharas, who makes an emergency landing on the surface with news vital to the Federation
and to Starfleet.Coro's away team eventually successfully pulls Ka'tek off the surface,
who tells us that the Klingon Empire and Rihannsu Star Republic have invaded the Federation! |
| Feb 2401 | |
The Klingon Empire and Rihannsu Star Republic together launch a joint war of aggression on
the United Federation of Planets, invading over a border several thousand light-years long.
Starfleet, hard put to defend the Federation, falls back dozens of light-years along the front.
Destroyed or captured in the initial fighting are nearly a dozen Starfleet starbases along both
borders. The war continues over the next several months. |
| Apr 2401 | |
U.S.S. Coronado strikes one of the hardest blows for the Federation in the on-going war
when she captures an intact Rihannsu Ra'Kalen class escort destroyer, S.R.R. Sienov Temarr,
and its technology.
Unfortunately, during the mission which successfully captures the ship, Coro's Marines
suffer frightful losses, the ships that are escorting her are badly damaged... and newly-promoted
Captain Jarod Bentall, our Executive Officer, is tragically killed. |
| May 2401 | |
Only a handful of days later, Coro and the rest of Task Group 5.4 are escorting Sienov
Temarr to Starfleet Research and Development when the entire group is caught outside the Hayashi
blue-white supergiant and trapped against its massive bulk. Facing an overwhelming Romulan force
with no hope of escape, our prospects for survival look bleak... until we uncover a Traxati hypergate
in the system. With little choice, the group escapes through, finding themselves in Galaxy M64, over
19 million light-years from Federation space! |
| Jun 2401 | |
Coronado makes a startling discovery when we come upon a large colony of humanoids in
Galaxy M64, after following a Starfleet probe to their new homeworld.
The humanoid colonists are former Federation members: three generations of descendants of the crew of U.S.S.
Churchill, NCC-2713, a Starfleet vessel recorded as missing, presumed destroyed, more than a
century ago in the Milky Way galaxy.

Our information leads us to believe that Churchill found her way through the Traxati gate and
was unable to find its own way home, and instead made a home for themselves in M64. Their planet,
Reorsa, becomes the new focal point and home base for Task Group 5.4's exploration of M64.
Churchill herself has been lovingly maintained and rebuilt over the decades and still serves as
the colony's primary defense ship. |
| Jul 2401 | |
Coronado discovers a Traxati presence in galaxy M64: a single Traxati "world-life" in
a system listed on the Reorsan starmaps as the Enigma system. Enigma matches the configuration
of known Traxati colony worlds in the faraway galaxy that was on the far side of the Brimstone
hypergate in the Talos Star Group. We manage to make peaceful contact with this Traxati colony
world, which turns out to be a single lifeform of enormous size. This Traxati informs us that
it is alone in M64... there is some force hostile to Traxati life here. |
| Sep 2401 | |
Task Group 5.4 makes its first contacts with the Pfhor Hegemony, known to the Churchill
survivors as the "Accursed." Our first combat engagement with them occurs when the Pfhor begin
probing attacks along the north and west flanks of Reor space. We later learn that they are searching
for another species called the Apori. Within another month, we come into full conflict with the Pfhor
when they attempt to destroy the Apori in Reor space. |
| Oct 2401 | |
The Pfhor Hegemony launches an assault on the Apori race, who have settled on a planet near
Reorsa called Pitstop 3. Twenty of the nearly unstoppable juggernauts we know as Pfhor
destroyers enter the system. The Reorsan fleet and TG5.4 gather an armada in what initially looks
to be a hopeless defense. "The Battle of Pitstop 3" as it is later called ranges from the Pitstop
to the Reor systems and during the battle, several allied ships are critically damaged, including
U.S.S. Coronado. Our frigate is all but destroyed in the battle, but the battle is won
when the Apori launch a counterattack that drives the Pfhor from the two systems. Though severe
damage has been done to us, we have gained an important ally. |
| Dec 2401 | |
Later in the same year, the group first encounters the Ventu Exchange when a starbase-sized tradeship
from that race folds into the Reor system, apparently offering an exchange. Though we learn very
little about this enigmatic race, which calls themselves the "Unbound," and they are unlikely to
become military allies against the Pfhor, they do sell us some very intriguing technology which gives
us new insights into the physics and the "reality" of M64... |
| Jan 2402 | |
The Task Group members begin to learn the properties of "false matter," the substance that
they purchased from the Ventu. False matter, not so much a substance as a zone of nothingness,
has the ability to push any normal matter "out of the way." As a result, false matter can essentially
cut through any normal matter, though any sort of energy field is immune to the effect. This
discovery soon creates what is almost an entirely new field of scentific research and engineering
development. Swords, torpedoes, and starhip shields are soon constructed out of the material, and
that is just to start... |
| Feb 2402 | |
The combination of braid technical and engineering ability and industrial replicators brought from the
Milky Way by Task Group 5.4 allows the Reorsan fleet to begin construction of several new ships. Based on
designs from the Milky Way, the first three ships to begin construction are U.S.S. Destiny, an
Intrepid class light cruiser, and two Defiant II class destroyer escorts. Basic spaceframes are built
for each on the surface of Reorsa and then launched into orbit and docked to Mobile Repair Facilities acting
as shipyards. All the while, Pfhor attacks on allied facilities intensify. In addition, a new Pfhor
capability emerges: one of their subject races has the ability to subvert and take control of allied craft... |
| Mar 2402 | |
The allies win their first major victory in the conflict with the Pfhor Hegemony with the Second Battle
for Pitstop 3. When a large Pfhor force enters the system intent on putting an end to the Apori race,
the allies reveal their newest capabilities -- false matter torpedoes, which can slice through Pfhor
armor with ease, and false matter shields, which can repel their anti-proton particle beams.
Starfleet proves herself a viable threat to the Hegemony, and a devastating assault force is turned
away from Pitstop. |
| May 2402 | |
The following two months are broken with defeat after defeat as the massive force of the Pfhor
Hegemony's ships are brought to bear. Even false matter torpedoes and shields cannot stop the onslaught
as dozens of the Hegemony's enormous destroyers and cruisers push the newly formed "Defenders" back and
back and back. Though the Defenders are made up of every remotely friendly race we've discovered in
M64 to date, we simply don't have the forces or technology to stop the onslaught. The Defenders consider
encouraging Reorsa to join the Hegemony to spare its civilian population, while those that wish to
continue to fight escape to nearby nebulae and dust clouds to launch a guerilla war. |
| Jun 2402 | |
A civil war breaks out among the Apori between those Apori that agree with the other Defenders that Reor
cannot be defended and those that believe that allowing Reor to fall is cowardice. The latter group begins
calling themselves "The Will of the One," becoming even more fanatically anti-Pfhor than their brethren.
The Will of the One initially scorns and attacks Defender ships, believing them unworthy allies. |
| Jul 2402 | |
The Defenders elect to allow Reorsa to join the Hegemony; the allies flee into nearby dustclouds along
with nearly their full fleet. Plans for a guerilla war are drawn up and executed, only to find that the
Pfhor are proficient in defending against hit-and-run raids and other light-cavalry tactics. Each major
assault is countered and driven back, then followed up by Pfhor attacks on Defender strongholds. The allies
are soon desperately searching for a tactic -- any tactic that will slow the advance of the Hegemony. |
| Aug 2402 | |
A desperation raid in an attempt to capture a Pfhor destroyer is an utter, total failure for the Defenders;
our attack is routed and our ships are driven away from the ship in defeat. All we have to show for the
disastrous mission is a single captured being known as a S'pht -- one of the key Hegemony races, and the
ones that control much of their technology. The S'pht, known as S'buuth, is initially completely hostile
and ambivalent to our cause... but does reveal that much of Pfhor technology is retrofit from an ancient
race known as the Jjaro. Attempts to sway S'buuth to our side are met with limited success at best;
S'buuth is filled with rage at his former "Overlords" and would happily see any non-S'pht dead if it would
mean freeing his race from Pfhor bondage. |
| Sep 2402 | |
Coronado, while looking for evidence of the Jjaro, discovers a startling artifact deep within
Pfhor space, an enormous asteroid-starship. Within are a number of chambers, the most extensive of which,
the second, has forests, fields, farms, and an extensive city. Coro reaches the interior and
in the course of investigating, learns that the city is called Alexandria, the asteroid is called Xanadu,
and both of them were built in the Milky Way... the Milky Way of the future! This impossible paradox is
not easily explained, particuarly when we learn that one of Vice Admiral Aldur's relatives will be the
designer of Xanadu... |
| Nov 2402 | |
Thanks to information that we discover in Xanadu, we determine the location of Lh'owon, what we believe
to be the original homeworld of the S'pht. In addition, we find a device in Xanadu known as the Catapult.
The Catapult can open a subspace rift to any point in the universe for 16 hours... but there is only enough
power to use it to send starships through the rift once. While we could have used the Catapult to get home,
we could not in good conscience leave Reor'sa and millions of other lives under the Hegemony. Instead,
we determine that if we can travel to Lh'owon, we could free the S'pht'kr -- the most ancient and powerful of
the S'pht tribes. S'buuth believes that the S'pht'kr can free all of the S'pht from Hegemony dominiation...
all at once. |
| Dec 2402 | |
Coronado's mission in Lh'owon is successful, but at a frightful cost. The Pfhor launch a devastating
assault on Xanadu, destroying most of the Starfleet ships in M64 in the process. In addition, a number of
the ships of our allies are also destroyed. Though Vice Admiral Aldur convinces new allies to join the fight,
the battle seems hopeless... until Coronado succeeds. The S'pht'kr are freed, but at an even more
frightful cost: S'buuth joins them, and is given a wish by them. He uses the wish to "destroy his people's
captors."
This wish is granted with horrible impact: an entire sentient race, the leading race of the Pfhor Hegemony,
is utterly destroyed as if they had never been. Coronado returns to Xanadu, her mission successful:
the war is over. But we are left wondering if it could have been completed without the destruction of an
entire race... |
| Feb 2403 | |
You are here. This is the current month and year of the Coronado sim. |
U.S.S. Coronado Timeline -- "Real Life"
| Dec 1996 | |
Ross Glenn starts the U.S.S. Renegade
website, a fan fiction site devoted to the adventures of a New Orleans class frigate in Starfleet.
A couple of months later, Ross joins the
Federation Sim Group
and joins several sims, including U.S.S. Gryphon and Hermes. |
| Jul 1997 | |
Jester submits U.S.S. Coronado as a new potential Federation Sim Group IRC sim. The
initial proposal for the sim includes all of the major elements later incorporated into Coronado,
including Starfleet Marines, the Jaunt drive, and her status as a New Orleans class frigate. The
initial proposal also includes outlines for the plots for later Coronado sims "The Way We Were,"
"Second Chance for Glory," "Mordred," "Infection," "Black Ops," and "Coronauts." |
| Aug 1997 | |
FSG suffers a serious staff shakeup when, in quick succession, several layers of her top personnel
resign or are removed from office over a period of several days. Included in this exodus are FSG's
founder, Grand Admiral Picard, Admiral Graves, and virtually the entire E-Mail Simming Division, which
later goes on to form its own group, Allied Electronic Sims.
FSG's website and log system are dissolved by Picard. Jester provides significant assistance in getting
FSG back on its feet. |
| Aug 1997 | |
The U.S.S. Coronado IRC sim is approved by Admiral Harris, the new FSG CO. Coronado
has her first official IRC sim on August 29, 1997. Some founding members: Jester (Captain Brian Aldur)
is CO; Aeriel (Cmdr. Raven Silver) is XO; DDemon (Major Marcus Grainge), Shadow (Lt. Commander Alan
Rakadinte), Sirius (Lt. Stephen Sirius), Tenna (Lt. Jessi Anderson), and RJ (Lt. JG Lan DuLac).
Coro sims center around action, adventure, and intrigue! |
| Oct 1997 | |
The First Annual U.S.S. Coronado Halloween Tongue-in-Cheek Sim takes place, vaulting
Coro into an alternate reality where the fight over the dread kiwi fruit has ascended
(descended?) to new heights. The normally serious simmers of Coro degenerate into
silliness. |
| Jan 1998 | |
A schism develops between Jester and several senior members of the FSG staff over the way the
elections and the group Constitution are being handled. Jester feels that the democractic precepts
that FSG was refounded on are being subverted by individuals more concerned with their FSG positions
than with simming. Jester finally withdraws Coronado from FSG in protest. While most of
the crew follows him out of the group, a few, including Tenna (Lt. Jessi Anderson) and DDemon
(Lt. Colonel Marcus Grainge) do not and resign from the sim. |
| Feb 1998 | |
After considering several alternate contenders, including Starfleet Sim Group, Jester elects to
move the U.S.S. Coronado sim to Liberty Online, which had been founded by Oxmix, CO of
U.S.S. Hermes, a couple of months before. A key factor in Jester's decision is the fact that
Liberty Online takes a very strict hands-off attitude toward their sim COs, allowing them to run
their sims in any way they see fit. |
| Aug 1998 | |
U.S.S. Coronado celebrates her One Year Anniversay with an "event" sim entitled "Captain's
Day Off." This is Coro's first Holodeck sim, and revolves around a holodeck program the
Captain discovers featuring the 21st century U.S.S. Coronado. The program involves one of
the precursor naval battles to World War III. Called "The Alaska Incident" by historians, it
involves the U.S. Navy of that era in a disastrous intervention into a seceeding U.S. state, a
rebellious Russian province, and conflicting orders from home. The simulated mission is completed
successfully, and the crew learns not only about the past, but some things about themselves... |
| Oct 1998 | |
Coronado's Second Annual Halloween Tongue-in-Cheek Sim takes place. Called "Opposites
Attract," it is a wacky tale of what happens when a portion of Coro's crew are replaced
by duplicates from alternate dimensions, some decidedly... odd. The humor builds slowly and
unobtrusively into a hilarious climax! |
| Dec 1998 | |
As part of the festivities surrounding a new series of sims featuring the U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701-A,
the Coronado website is upgraded with several new features, including the new Settings section.
In this series of sims, the crew of Coro is selected to take Enterprise on an intelligence
mission in the 23rd century. The crew must investigate reports of a deep-cover changeling infiltrator
in Starfleet! |
| Jan 1999 | |
The character of Tebrun Kor makes his debut appearance on the UCIP sim S.S.S. Alpha Gold,
part of the Starfleet Secret Service. Initially posing as a civilian advisor, Kor is later revealed
to be a long-time member of Starfleet Intelligence. He is later pulled out of retirement.
Before that happens, however, Kor is a member of the Alpha Gold team for some six months
and participates in many missions on that sim. These sims culminate in Kor's true background
being revealed and his being instrumental in preventing a terrorist attack on the Coronado
before she is commissioned, with the assistance of the ship's new crew. |
| Jun 1999 | |
Following two years of successful sims, Ross discontinues the first U.S.S. Coronado,
NCC-63100. However, the sim is not dead, but will in fact be split into two new sims.
The first, U.S.S. Coronado, NCC-97901, will take place 25 years after the end of Star
Trek: Deep Space Nine® and will continue to focus on the current Coro's format:
a Starfleet frigate carrying Marines, and involved in the action, adventure, and mystery sim
format. The second, U.S.S. Pegasus, NCC-63847, will continue to stay in 2375 and
will focus on diplomacy, exploration, and the aftermath of the Dominion War. |
| Jun 1999 | |
Following an unofficial shakedown sim, the new U.S.S. Coronado, NCC-97901, has its
debut sim ("Kyrie Eleison," Part 1) in the
United Confederation of Interstellar Planets. |
| Aug 1999 | |
The simmers of Coronado celebrate their second anniversary with a terrifying
double episode ("Illusion Weavers" and "Eyes Bright with Purpose") wherein they are introduced
to two possible new adversaries: the Traxati and their mysterious foes, the X!chi. |
| Nov 1999 | |
Ross takes an extended job-related leave of absense. Daniel Chadwick (aka Alffred) takes
command in his absense. |
| Dec 1999 | |
Ryan McClure, a member of the Coronado sim produces a new graphic model of U.S.S. Coronado!
The new model looks great and allows for many new images of the ship to be created for the website. Ryan
is also the creator of the Spectre class fighter model. Thanks, Ryan!! |
| Apr 2000 | |
Ross returns from his leave and retakes command of the ship. During his absense, Alffred and
Ryan do absolutely stellar jobs running the sim, Alffred running the sims, Ryan keeping the website
updated. Very nice jobs, guys! Thank you! Unrelated to this, Coronado is moved from
Starfleet's Fourth ("Delta") Fleet to Fifth ("Epsilon") Fleet. |
| Jul 2000 | |
U.S.S. Erasmus, under the command of Captain Suzanna Blokpoel, begins a plot in which that
ship encounters the home galaxy of the Traxati as well as several Traxati hypergates. This launches
a fleet-wide plot centered on the Traxati and their enemy, the X!chi. |
| Aug 2000 | |
Ross Glenn aka Jester aka Captain Tebrun Lora Kor is selected as UCIP's Deputy Commander in
Chief. Concurrent with this, most of the sims in UCIP's Fifth Fleet begin a plot centered around
the Traxati. |
| Sep 2000 | |
UCIP suffers a major staff shake-up over the next two months as several senior personnel in
UCIP resign or are removed from office. In particular, Jester steps down from his position
out of protest of Rear Admiral Taddy Mitchell's actions as CinC. Taddy is removed from his
position soon after for conflict of interest violations. Fleet Captain Ian Korin briefly
serves as CinC before Rear Admiral Christopher Lennox is selected as his replacement. |
| Oct 2000 | |
The staff shake-up begins to moderate. Rear Admiral Lennox selects Admiral Jeremiah Soran
Knight as Deputy Commander in Chief. Fleet Captain Ian Korin steps down as Starfleet Commander and
is replaced by Fleet Captain Suzanna Blokpoel. Captain Salek is selected as the new Fifth ("Epsilon")
Fleet Commander. |
| Jan 2001 | |
U.S.S. Coronado is recognized with the highest honor a UCIP sim can receive: the
Andrew P. Bergen Award for Excellence in Simming. In particular, Coro was recognized
as the top pick of the IRC sims so recognized, earning many complimentary comments from the
committee that made the final decisions. Well done, Coro simmers! This is definitely
your award, and I'm pleased and proud that others recognize what damn fine simmers you
all are! |
| Feb 2001 | |
Commander Jarod Bentall, our very own Alffred, takes over for Captain Salek as the Fifth ("Epsilon")
Fleet Commander after the latter steps down from that position... |
| Apr 2001 | |
...only to take an extended Leave of Absense only two months later. ;-) However, Alffred promises
that he will be back for more Coro simming and is promoted to the rank of Captain. |
| Jun 2001 | |
Overall, a very quiet summer for Coronado, the quiet only marred by Fleet Captain Salek's
resignation (again!) as Epsilon Subfleet Commander. Commander Robert MacKay is selected as his
successor. Also during this same month, Alffred fulfills his promise of a return to UCIP activities
by first, taking command of UCIP's Starbase Aurora sim,
and second, by accepting a relatively low-ranking position on Coro, as Marine Company Commander
Alfa, 1Lt. Eric Moore. Welcome back, Alffred! |
| Sep 2001 | |
A busy month for Epsilon Fleet and for UCIP, as Alffred accepts the position of UCIP's Deputy
Commander, but resigns 18 days later in the wake of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center
in New York City. He also steps down as CO of Starbase Aurora. We hope he comes back soon. Soon
after, Commander Robert MacKay steps down as Epsilon Subfleet Commander and is replaced by Fleet
Captain Roger Boren. |
| Dec 2001 | |
Another busy month for UCIP Command Staff changes, as Christopher Lennox steps down as UCIP
Commander in Chief to take the position of Executive Director of UCIP International. Kilmarac Jarov
'ech takes over as CinC and Adh tr'Raith takes over as Deputy CinC. Adh Donalh tr'Rhagarokk takes
over for tr'Raith as Director of the Romulan Star Republic division. Unrelated to this, Coronado
is moved from Starfleet's Fifth ("Epsilon") Fleet to Starfleet's Eighth ("Omicron") Fleet. |
| Jan 2002 | |
U.S.S. Coronado brings home her second Bergen in a row! The Bergen, more formally known
as the Andrew P. Bergen Award for Excellence in Simming, is the highest honor that a sim in UCIP
can achieve. In UCIP's eight years, only a handful of sims have been honored twice in a row.
Coro blew away the competition! Well done, everyone! Once again, everyone in UCIP has
learned what you already know: U.S.S. Coronado's simmers are the best in UCIP! |
| Apr 2002 | |
Tebrun Lora Kor is promoted from Fleet Captain to Commodore. Almost simultaneously, UCIP
eliminates the official rank of Fleet Captain and bumps all personnel at that rank or above up one
grade. The end result is that Tebrun Lora Kor is now a Rear Admiral, and Jester starts thinking
about how to incorporate this unexpected OOC turn of events into Coronado's IC environment... |
| Jun 2002 | |
Coronado makes a major in-character shift in direction when Jester's rank changes from
Commodore to Rear Admiral in a shift of UCIP character ranks. As a result, Tebrun Lora Kor becomes a
Defender Group Captain, and is placed in command of a Task Group, 85.3, "Whitestone." This change puts
Daren's character, William Daren, in in-character command of Coronado with a new character,
Commander Darek Smith (played by Aggie), as in-character XO. Out-of-chracter, Coro continues
operating as she always has, with Jester providing the story layouts, background, and direction. |
| Aug 2002 | |
UCIP has an enormous summer shake-up, with both a large number of discussions on UCIP policy taking
place and a number of staff resignations and replacements. Kilmarac steps down as Commander in Chief,
and is replaced by Ian Korin. tr'Raith, the Deputy Commander in Chief, also resigns and is replaced by
qurgh in an acting capacity. A number of other command staff members also resign or are replaced.
The shake-up continues throughout the summer and into the fall, with no real changes in UCIP policy
(though any number of such changes are proposed and rejected). |
| Sep 2002 | |
Martin Fury steps down as Omicron Subfleet Commander, and is subsequently replaced by Commodore
Kahlia Scott. Commodore Scott holds this post for only two months officially (though she'd been handling
the job in an unofficial capacity for more than a year) before she is named Commander, Starfleet in
December. |
| Nov 2002 | |
The staff shake-ups at the highest levels of UCIP continue unabated, as Ian Korin steps down as
CinC and is replaced by Commodore Leia Dean. A month later, Commodore Scott replaces BGen. Craig Shipman
as Commander, Starfleet. Captain Stephen Masters is selected as the new Omicron Subfleet Commander. |
| Jan 2003 | |
U.S.S. Coronado wins her third Admiral Andrew P. Bergen
award in a row! This is an accomplishment that no other sim in UCIP can claim since sims were first
recognized with the Bergen awards six years ago! In particular, of the sims chosen, Coro is
listed first, something Jester refuses to believe is a coincidence. ::grins:: |
