Admiral Andrew P. Bergen Award for Excellence in Simming | |
It's now January 2003. A year ago, I wrote an announcement very much like this one that ended: "::grins:: No UCIP ship has EVER won this award three times in a row. Anyone game?" Well, now one sim -- and only one sim -- has. ;-) I was thrilled to see the UCIP Command Staff recognize all of the hard work and dedication you guys put in, especially when we could have very easily been ruled "ineligible" due to some changes in Bergen rules over the summer. And I refuse to believe it's coincidence that Coronado was listed first among the six winning sims. ;-) So, once again, I want to thank all of you for your excellent role-playing and your dedication to the Coronado sim. This one isn't about my work -- it's about yours. Congratulations to all of you! The following simmers are hereby recognized as part of Coronado's third receipt of UCIP's Bergen Award, the highest recognition a sim can gain in UCIP. Each of these simmers were part of the Coro sim for at least 18 weeks of the 52 week awarding period.

excellence in simming:
U.S.S. Coronado was awarded her second Admiral Andrew P. Bergen Award for excellence in simming as part of the January 2002 ceremonies. Coronado is only the third ship in UCIP history to win the annual version of this prestigious award twice in a row! Though unlike last year, there were no formal comments received for this awarding period, I did receive some informal comments from a variety of people. After completing his review, one Bergen Committee voter that I respect more than few other people in UCIP for his integrity and story-telling ability told me this:
"In my opinion, you have the best IRC SIM in UCIP... Hands down."
U.S.S. Coronado is a recipient of the Admiral Andrew P. Bergen Award for
excellence in simming:
U.S.S. Coronado was awarded her first Admiral Andrew P. Bergen Award for excellence in simming as part of the January 2001 ceremonies. Some of the comments that were received during this period were: "The Coronado, along with the sims I have listed closer to the top, has exhibited what I consider a tight-knit family, having a very low turnover rate of officers, many having been with this sim since its early days in other organizations, which was over 2 years ago. This, on top of reading some of the comments given by newer members of the crew on the ease of joining this sim sealed the U.S.S. Coronado as my number one choice." "I voted for the U.S.S. Coronado an IRC sim as first. Why, because this sim is one that includes everyone, and helps those that need help. It is an interesting sim that has side plots that add more to this sim..." "The choices were very hard to make, in IRC, the U.S.S. Coronado stands out above the other 3. Both in general criteria as well as awarding criteria. But choosing the others beyond that was more difficult..."
