Designer Notes
Built by Junkman to Juno Tyrelle's specifications, the OMNI Overwatch is essentially a reconnaissance drone used by Black Talons teams in the field. Using an on-board MERIT 1000 sensor array, the OMNI can scan a wide radius for hostiles and then transmit that information to allied units in the area.

The OMNI features an artificial intelligence system and autopilot, and can therefore either be released for an independent scan or operated remotely (assuming a successful Pilot check by its operator). In an heavily ECM battlefield, the OMNI can also be programmed to sweep a specified search grid and then return to its launch vehicle with its data.

In form, OMNI is a small turbine-driven aircraft with glide capability. It can hover in place, trace figure-8 patterns above the battlefield, loiter behind obstructions, or be released for independent flight and evasion. Mounted to the fuselage is a tool arm bearing its primary sensors. OMNI can therefore hide behind obstructions or within concealment, revealing only its tool arm and sensor apparatus. The tool arm also features a small laser target designator that can be used to paint hostiles for release of guided weapons by allied platforms in the area.

Finally, the OMNI's sensor array contains mine detection sensors and its turbine thrusters are forceful enough that if flown low over a battlefield, will act as a Rating 1 minesweeper, though obviously at some danger to the unit itself. OMNI will not enter this mode automatically, but must be manually Piloted by its operator.
