Starfleet Record: Lt. Commander Seeks-the-TruthSeeks-the-Truth
Post:Former Non-specialist Officer
U.S.S. Bowen, NCC-1832-A
Species:Garou Female
Birthplace:Green-Under-Open-Sky
Age:3 (equivalent: 21 human)
Status:RETIRED FROM STARFLEET

Physical characteristics:
Height/Weight:1.15 meters (at the shoulder) / 65 kilograms
Hair (Fur)/Eyes:Copper brown / Gold
Description:Anyone encountering Seeks-the-Truth without warning is invariably startled: she looks like nothing so much as an overlarge Earth wolf! Covered in copper-colored fur, her eyes are surprisingly gentle and intelligent. She radiates little menace, even when truly angry. She wears her rank insignia and communicator on a necklace... there simply is not a Starfleet uniform that will fit her.
Notes:The "Garou," as they have been nicknamed among humans (the Garou Cultural Database is also available), are a telepathic, telekinetic sentient species (lupus sapiens). Their telepathic abilities allow them to project communications to and from any intelligent creature. Not exactly a "language," as such, the Garou communicate emotion, intent, and concept, in a way that is strikingly beautiful. They also have the ability to move small objects (weighing up to three pounds) or throw switches and the like with their minds, making them effective tool-users. It is not known how the Garou developed either ability, though it is suspected that they can somehow learn the psionic disciplines of other races.

Personality characteristics:
Marital status:Single
Family:Father: Fleet-as-Wind; Mother: Sighs-like-Brook; 7 littermates
Dominants:Serene, intelligent, humorous
Notes:The most interesting thing about the Garou personality in general is their "pack mentality." This is not as conformist as a collective conscious; nevertheless, Garou will form a mental bond with those they consider their pack and will conform to their actions. In additon, a Garou can, in effect, read the thoughts of and sense the feelings of her pack-mates. Aboard a Starfleet vessel, a Garou will form this bond with ten to twelve other officers. This is both an advantage and a disadvantage, of course -- while Seeks-the-Truth will come at call or at need of one of her pack-mate fellow officers, it is virtually impossible for these officers to keep a secret from her, or her from them.

This "pack mentality" also gives Seeks-the-Truth an additional advantage: because she can read the thoughts of her pack-mate officers, she can virtually duplicate any skill or action that these officers possess, taking the needed instructions on how to complete the action from her pack-mate's mind. At the Academy, it was virtually impossible to design a test that Seeks-the-Truth couldn't score perfectly on for this reason. The concept of "cheating" is alien to the Garou. As they themselves put it: {{What is good for the Pack is good for the One.}}

Interests:Though Seeks-the-Truth does not have "hobbies" as such (Garou find the concept amusing), she finds scientific, engineering, and medical journals fascinating, and will spend hours reading them if left to her own devices.

Performance Evaluations:
Stardate 9704.2:CO: Commodore Robert Wesley, CO, U.S.S. Lexington: Rating: Superior. Seeks-the-Truth, one of the three Garou in Starfleet, has turned in an exemplary performance aboard this vessel. This officer urged her to stay aboard the Lex and will be sorry to see her go. I and my crew have grown quite attached to her. However, she has requested a transfer to the Bowen (as she put it {{One's path lies with theirs.}}) and I cannot in good conscience... block her path.
