Notes from the Captain:
The number 30 can have a great impact on people's lives. Particularly
when you find yourself quickly approaching that many yea- ... uh, well
let's never mind that for now.
*clears his throat and starts over*
Welcome to the final 30 Coro Sims....EVER!! That's right folks, it's
the beginning of the end and welcome to it. I came across a particular
quote that I think does this occasion justice:
"When this baby hit's 88 miles per hour, you're gonna see some serious
sh--!"

Teaser and Pre-Sim:

Xanadu is on the move again and suddenly alerts everyone that she is
about to make another Beckmann Translation.
During the Sim:
---------------
Coronado and escorts continue to hold position nearby the energy field
surrounding the mysterious spatial anomaly. Things seem quiet for a
while and monitoring and study of the anomaly continue on. That is
until three rifts form on the edge of the system, and Xur carriers
emerge. They are accompanied by fighters and begin launching even more
once fully established in the system.
Not quite what to expect, Captain Daren observes caution and most at
Command areas of the ship begin to wonder what the Xur are doing so far
from their home system. Lieutenant Anna Brooks attempts to determine if
there are any signs of the 'Tar na zee' present in these new arrivals,
while the rest of the group sit back in stunned observance. Later on
when it is announced over all channels that Xanadu will be making a
Beckmann translation very soon, things start to make a bit more sense.
Without flinching, most on Coro surmise that Xanadu will be making her
translation to this area of space, perhaps in an attempt to close the
spatial anomaly here. Speculation is also rampant that the perhaps the
Xur lured Xanadu here or knew the asteroid starship would come here to
seal the anomaly, and are planning to ambush it.
Coronado launches Spectres in CAP formation in response to the Xur's
movements in the system. Then things are soon confirmed when Xanadu
makes her appearance. Xur fighters immediately take off for Xanadu's
position once she has finished the translation. Captain Daren orders
the ship to close on Xanadu and take up a defensive posture, and soon
Xanadu's First Chamber begins pouring out ships in her own defense:
Spectres, Banshees, and Wraiths. The system is quickly set up like a
gigantic chess board as the opposing sides are squared off. Hope for a
peaceful outcome begins to fade.
Xanadu fires off an energy surge at a nearby distortion field and
"reflects" off of it. There is a great discharge or energy around the
field that envelopes several Xur fighters, but do not seem harmed.
Xanadu appears to be firing blanks. The asteroid starship makes a
second attempt with the same upsetting result. It is quickly determined
that the Xur ships are emitting a particular boson particle that seems
to be what is disrupting Xanadu's weapon discharges. General Ironside
and Savant begin to work on ways to disrupt this boson emission and let
Xanadu close the anomaly while Drexler assigns ships of the fleet into
flight groups; preparing for the worst.
Xur fighters approach the anomaly and fire weapons blue-white spheres of
entery toward the event horizon. Once they are inside the anomaly there
is a great discharge that rocks all ships in the area as the anomaly and
energy fields grow larger. Xanadu launches a beam that is very
different from the previous two, this time she takes out several Xur
ships as the Flag moves one of its flight of ships closer into the fray.
The fight to collapse rid the system of the Xur infestation begins.
Finally to make matters worse, the child Paqui once again interferes
with the ships systems at the worst possible moment. Security is
alerted to find the child and bring it under control once again...
