THOSIS: A general of some small renown in the Saris system, Thosis was
considered by most to be a religious radical. He believed that the
creators of Saris and the universe had ordained him to rule what the
Sarisians euphemistically called the "Holy Empire of Saris". His
ordination, he claimed, was written in the stars. It was later learned
that what he saw was a time-space anomaly resulting from a Thread
Looping in a nearby star system. The holy war that is attributed to his
belief of his own ordination is the same war that is said to have
brought about the end of the Holy Empire of Saris.

SARIS: A semi-theological monarchy ruled by the Holy Emperor for nearly
600 years before it was destroyed in 2447. Once a potential candidate
for admission to the Reor'san Defenders' Alliance, Saris was destroyed
by the holy war incited by General Thosis, son of the late Emperor
Feyden and brother of then-Emperor Thorgon. This war raged on long
after the deaths of Thosis and Thorgon. It is suspected that forces
outside of Saris may have incited this war, but there is no conclusive
evidence.
