Notes from the Executive Officer:
I apologize for the lateness of this report. I was called away on
family business for the weekend. But, here it is now. :-)
As this was my first time to run a sim in nearly four years, I would
like to thank everyone especially Jester for being such good sports
about it. I apologize for the sim running a little slow for so long.
I'm learning from my mistakes quickly, so hopefully next week's sim will
go a little more smoothly.
First off, it is my pleasure to welcome to the crew Lefty. Lefty has
joined our Engineering Empire as Ensign Brandon Gannsen. Let's hope
that Gannsen is able to carve his own niche in the rich and storied
history and the vast power structure that is the Engineering Department.
All hail the Engineers, for they give us light and water and keep us
from falling apart most days, at least. ;-)
Alas, it is my sad duty to remove Commander Marcy from the crew roster
as he has not been heard from in these parts in more than a month.
Marcy, let us know what's up if you can. In the meantime, we will
shortly be welcoming back a beloved Coronado character, Captain Jarod
Bentall, as portrayed by Alffred, to replace Marcy on the Flag Staff.
Alffred's Lt. Cmdr. Shar has left Coronado to be XO on Kari's Cerberus
sim. Best of luck to Kari, Alffred, and the rest.
Sim Title: "Renegotiator", (Episode 715) Part Two
Teaser and Pre-Sim:

Lt. Jim Owens and Rear Admiral Todd Marshall discuss the nature of Jjaro
defenses back on Xanadu. It would appear that the defenses are composed
of false matter. Meanwhile, a log entry by the pilot of the mysterious
spacecraft makes it clear that he could use a little help from Coronado...
During the Sim:
---------------
The swept winged vessel again makes its emergence from the local anomaly
as scheduled but its course brings it to Coronado instead of away from
her. Within moments, the small craft identifying itself as the
Reor'san Defenders Ship "Aldur" hails Coronado, her pilot identifying
himself only as "Stewart" and requesting an audience with Captain Daren
as soon as possible. Daren grants the request, and Captain Stewart
beams himself to Coronado's bridge, much to the surprise of Daren and
company.
Captain Stewart leads the senior staff on a bit of wild goose chase as
far as his motives are concerned, but he does reveal several important
facts. He is a traveler from a possible future, and he has come back
in search of critical data that could change the future history of the
people of the nearby planet of Saris. When pressed for why the
Sarisians are so important, Stewart asks for a private audience with
Daren. When the two are alone, Stewart confesses that he is trying to
restore future history to its proper course the Saris system at peace
but that an agent of unknown origin has sabotaged his attempts. He
continues to travel back through time to negotiate a truce between the
warring factions of General Thosis, a religious radical, and the
Sarisian government. Every time he loops back to this point on the
Thread, however, the anomaly Coronado has been investigating grows in
size. Daren reveals to Stewart that each time the loop has started over
in recent memory, Commander Tal has grown sicker and weaker. Stewart
claims that Tal and her children are linked to the anomaly because of
Tal's subversion many moths previous. The start of each new iteration
is killing her, weakening her mind and body with each looping of the
Thread. For Tal and for the future's sake, Daren agrees to help Stewart
and goes to plead the man's case to the Flag Staff. After verifying
that Stewart is from the future in fact a direct descendant of Tal
herself Coronado's staff is persuaded to join Stewart's crusade.
While Daren and the bridge staff meet with Stewart, Drs. Kennedy and
Dyson deal with a rapidly deteriorating Commander Tal, whose link to the
anomaly induces labor more than two months too early. The doctors
stabilize Tal and stave off the inevitable birth of the twins, but with
the stability of the Thread connected to the three's well-being, time is
running out for the XO and her yet-unborn children.
When Stewart's ship vanishes on a temporal trajectory once again, Lt.
Brooks reports that it is heading not to the past but to the future.
Stewart claims that it will return in approximately one week's time. At
that time, he has to be prepared to make a report of his progress or of
his failure. If he fails, he will be required once more to journey into
the past, further threatening the integrity of the Thread and the lives
of Commander Tal and her twins.
