In the dream, it was a female voice, always a female voice.
"Captain, humans call us... Trill. It is from a word in our
language. Trell zha. Change. Change is at the heart of who we
are. That is why I could not go. For me to deny change would be
for me to deny my existence, my place in the universes."
The voice was that of a young woman, and familiar. Kor could swear
he recognized the voice, but he couldn't place it. The feeling of
familiarity wasn't connected to a specific host... seemed to be
disconnected from every other memory.
Kor had a feeling of repetition that he just couldn't shake, and it
came out in his dreams more than in any other way.
And then the voice added, "He would have felt the same."
