A very nice, quiet little sim, with some thought-provoking sections! I
particularly enjoyed the discussion about the nature of the Pfhor on the

Sim Title: "The Last Patrol", Part 2
Teaser and Pre-Sim:
-------------------
Tebrun Lora Kor has a dream about a woman, whose voice is familiar but
unknown, a woman whose memories are disconnected from his symbiont's.
During the Sim:
---------------
Coronado and half her escort continued to hold position outside the
system with the three Pfhor-occupied moons. Meanwhile, the other half
of her escort continued tracking a Pfhor transport colony, which
eventually arrived at a second system on the far side of the nebula.
This second system was home to a species a bit more advanced
technologically than the first system, and there was ample evidence of
cross-system trade between the two locations: advanced technology in one
direction, foodstuffs and raw materials in the other. The second system
was also the home of two Pfhor destroyers, apparently tasked with
guarding the trade routes.
Meanwhile, both Commander Savant and Lieutenant Brooks busied themselves
with looking over the printed material captured by the two away missions
and eventually settled on a surprising conclusion: the Pfhor here do not
appear to be occupying the moons. Instead, a cooperative -- almost
symbiotic -- relationship has formed between the native species and
their former conquerors. Amusingly, though, at least one article seemed
to be lobbying for a return to the "old ways," and bemoaned the crime
and occasional demonstrations since the change in government that
accompanied the new relationship. Apparently, life under the Pfhor as
conquerors is limited, but very orderly... An argument then breaks out
on the Bridge about whether any Pfhor could be trust-worthy.
We were soon faced with another problem, however: Coronado lost its
ansible link to the remainder of the fleet, and to Reorsa. Lieutenant
Brooks was able to confirm that this was a gradual phenomenon, the
strength of the signal degrading gradually over time since Coro's
approach of the three moons. The end result was crippling: a loss of
ansible communications, false matter shields, and false matter weapons.
We have become so accustomed to the instantaneous communications that
the ansible provides that losing them was was perceived as a threat, and
both Commanders Savant and Drexler were quick to contact our outbound
scouts by other means to determine that they had not been affected.
Soon, Savant was able to determine that it was only Coronado and the two
ships near here that were affected, and a change of position restored
ansible communications. This seems to confirm that the ansible is
somehow linked to the Watchers...
