Notes from the Captain:
Yuck. Sorry this is even a bit later than I thought it would be. If
you were in the channel last night you know that I took these two
green oval pills and, well, they worked alot faster than I thought
they would. Instead of the hour I thought I would have, I vaguely
recall having about 15 minutes. ;)
And yes, the rumors of my becoming older are true. I turn 27 today,
and get to enjoy a very great and rare gift: to sim on my birthday. :)
Sim Title: "Mass Resignation", Part 2
Teaser and Pre-Sim:
-------------------
With alot going on and so much information to concentrate on, Admiral
Lora Kor is getting a headache which continues to get worse as the
meetings with Nexus official progress.
During the Sim:
---------------
Coronado continues her slipstream scouting of the nebula while evading
the Xur at the same time. The latter being nearly impossible in the
nebula that renders nearly all forms of active sensors unusable. They
have been dropping sensor probes periodically in their wake like bread
crumbs in the forest to pick up any signs of the anomaly should they
occur after passing through the area. The problem with dropping bread
crumbs in the forest however, is that sometime the bears come along
and eat them. This nebula doesn't have any bears, but there are
plenty of Xur dispersed in the nebula and a number of them have
stumbled upon Coronado's probes and destroyed them.
In Xanadu's Fourth Chamber, the Admiral and his staff are discussing
their next move with the information compiled from the series of
meetings with the Nexus representatives. The Admiral calls for a
science expedition be sent to the nebula after reading how hostile
the nebula is toward most advanced technology.
Deeper within the nebula now, Coronado is knocked out of slipstream
and attacked by a swarm of Xurian Fighters. Quickly damaged and on
the defensive, she launches fighters to answer back. The slipstream
core is knocked offline once again, this time more severely. The
blind battle rages on until the Xur carrier that the fighters belong
to shows up in close range. Unable to go to slipstream, Coronado has
zero choice but to create a diversion and run for a deeper
concentration of nebula gas to evade the Xur. Coronado dispatches a
lone Spectre and pilot to proceed out of the nebula and inform the
escorts and rest of the fleet of the incredibly hostile status of the
nebula.
