This Sim Report comes to you from my room at the lovely Mohegan Sun
Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT (yeah, I know you don't know where
that is). It's in the New London area. And yes, in the midst of my
little gambling excursion I thought of you, the little peop- uh, the
simmers... and send off this report. So, enjoy... ;-)
Sim Title: "Lost Soul", Part 2

During the Sim:

With only days until the predicted appearance of the anomaly, Coronado
and other Alliance ships have entered the nebula and taken up their
assigned staging areas. On the bridge, Commodore Daren seems
preoccupied with the status of one particular group designated
'Inside-Straight', which contains the Reorsan Science vessel 'Hermes'.
At it's assigned time, the Hermes is to attempt to catch the
attention of a Xur Fighter patrol with a faked anomaly signature in
the hope of lure some of the Xur's larger forces from the actual
location. Daren admits that the move has at best a 50/50 shot of
working, but feels it is worth the effort.
In the meantime, former Admiral Lora Kor has been on his Wraith
Liberator designated Redeemer for some time now and is in need of
refueling. He turns to Coronado for such aid as a Nightmare class
ship enters the area. Sent by Read Admiral Marshall and Vanguard's
group, the fighter delivers an audio message that perhaps this
slipstream "pony express" is a bit more of an efficient way of
communication between the distant groups. Coronado's leadership
agrees and quickly two Nightmare's are designated Pony-1 and Pony-2
slipstream couriers.
Commander Tal seems preoccupied with hearing Lora Kor's voice over the
comm system and approaches Daren for a private meeting in which she
admits to feeling as though the group is proceeding down the wrong
path. She wonders if perhaps there is "another way" of dealing with
these anomalies and that sealing this newest one will not end the
continuation of other anomalies. Daren, is his usual fashion, grows
impatient with Tal's misgivings and instructs the Commander to come
up with something fresh or deal with the path that has been laid out.
With a group to command, Daren returns to the bridge and Tal passes
her whines onto Lora Kor.
In Xanadu, Alicia contacts the Command team and explains that she
knows everyone seems to be waiting for the facility to translate
somwhere and that this location is presumably a hostile one. Since
Olmy of the Nexus has informed her that several of the ships used to
close tears have been given to Alliance command, she wonders if it
would be prudent to translate to another location entirely as a
defensive measure. She now has the ability to override the
programming, and bring Xanadu to a location of her choosing thus
depleting the energy needed for movement and keeping Xanadu out of
harms way. The idea is debated for awhile and then the Longshot
system is chosen as a viable location for Xanadu to recharge itself.
Finally, a flight of Xur Heavy Fighters fly by Coronado's location on
a presumed scout run without firing a shot. The hunt begins as
friendly fighters are dispatched to pursue and destroy the vessels
before they can report the position to their fleet. Coronado takes a
hit from a blue sphere and affected sections are quickly shutdown to
avoid any Tar na zee infestation or spread. Without active sensors in
those locations, it is undetermined at how badly the ship has been
infected.
