 Tebrun Lora Kor felt a sense of repetition that he couldn't shake.

 Once again, he was looking at a ship's flight recorder.  Once again,
 that ship was being destroyed by an unknown enemy.  Once again, he
 sat and watched the results.

 There was a difference, though.  The first time, he didn't recognize
 the ship that had attacked.

 This time, though...

 The first time, he had watched the results of the Reorsan starship
 Dauntless and her first meeting with the Pfhor.  The beam had lashed
 out, and the small cruiser was cut in two.

 This time was very different.  Cerberus and Chimaera were both
 Defiant class warships with a crew of 40 each; both were slipstream
 capable.  The flight recorders from the two ships showed nothing of
 interest until the last three minutes prior to the warships coming
 out of slipstream.  After that, the recordings from both ships were
 the same.

 At first, Lora Kor only noticed the fighters.  Twenty or thirty of
 them surrounded both ships in a cloud.  The Admiral frowned -- he
 couldn't see any visible weapons fire from any of the fighters, yet
 the two Defiants opened fire on the fighters almost at once.  He
 made a notation on a PADD; had the fighters attacked these two ships
 before?

 At slipstream, the two ships could not raise full shields. 
 Generating the conduit required far too much of a ship's power, and
 the conduit would not remain stable at the use of high energy
 systems.  Yet both Defiants fired point defense phasers and Chimaera
 even fired several times with main weapons.  Lora Kor frowned again.
 Something was very wrong with this.

 Restarting the playback again and again, the Admiral finally found
 what was probably the carrier ship...  It was indistinct... unclear.

 Tebrun Lora Kor felt a sense of repetition that he couldn't shake.
