 "What's this, Admiral?" Captain William Daren said, holding up a
 PADD.

 Rear Admiral Tebrun Lora Kor looked up from his table in Seventh
 Heaven.  Nearby, an ever-present mug of Guinness was going more or
 less ignored as Lora Kor read his own set of PADDs.  Daren glanced
 at one, which was covered in advanced mathematics, interspersed with
 technical jargon.  The other PADDs looked much the same.

 Apparently, the Admiral was taking the mystery of the Fourth Chamber
 seriously.  But he didn't look up at the question.

 "It's an inspection order, Captain," he said.  "Before Coronado
 departs this facility, she will submit to an Admiralty staff
 inspection, top to bottom, antimatter injectors to flying bridge." 
 Only now did he look up.  His face was serious but his eyes sparkled
 with amusement.  "Why?" he asked.  "Is there a problem?"

 Daren stiffened and straightened.  "No, Admiral, of course not. 
 It's just that we haven't had any sort of inspection in M64, an--"

 Lora Kor cut him off.  "Admiralty inspections are one of the perks
 of the job, Captain," he said, his voice now also betraying his
 amusement.  "I'm a Starfleet Admiral, which means I am not allowed
 to torture political prisoners or those prisoners taken in war."  He
 paused, and the corners of his mouth were crooked.  "No, I only get
 to torture Starfleet Captains.  1400 sharp, Captain," he said, "and
 I expect everything to be ship-shape in Bristol fashion."

 As Daren acknowledged the order and stomped off, Lora Kor openly
 chuckled to himself, and added, "For once this year."
