Notes from the Admiral:

A bit quieter sim this week, befitting the larger revelations and
action of the last few weeks. We'll be picking up speed again for
the next few weeks; I hope the engineering and medical folks have
your thinking caps on. ::grins::

A little note for Coronado senior officers, by which I mean those
that get ops in #uss-coronado and other department heads. Part and
parcel of your position (and your ops, if you have them) is helping
to explain situations to the other simmers, answer basic questions,
and keep the other simmers involved. For everyone else, please feel
free to ask questions in #uss-coronado-ooc or message anyone with
ops in #uss-coronado with situation-based questions. I was pretty
damn busy during this week's sim answering questions. ;)

Sim Title: "The Fourth Chamber", Part 2

Teaser and Pre-Sim:

Rear Admiral Tebrun Lora Kor has an intense dream, in which he is
being trained for combat with primitive weapons by Vice Admiral
Brian Aldur and General Jeremy Ironside. At least, Lora Kor
believes it's a dream...

During the Sim:
---------------
With the recent excitement slowly quieting down, Coronado's crew
resumed their explorations of Xanadu's various chambers or their own
personal projects. Aboard Coronado, the only people truly busy were
the engineers, putting the finishing touches on Coronado's
antimatter transfer and storage systems before the hull and
structure around these areas is rebuilt. This was delicate work,
but proceeded swiftly with Commander Farley in charge of it. It did
mean, however, that Coro herself was more or less off limits to the
rest of the officers and crew. Commander Ma'Aru, however, stayed
aboard and kept Commander Farley company; the two talked subjects
from the ship's condition to the "state of the Defenders"...

Coro's shuttles were also being kept quite busy, with Captain Daren
taking one, and Lieutenant D'rall the other, both shuttles involved
in transporting people to Alexandria or other locations deeper in
Xanadu. Despite all of the unanswered questions about Xanadu,
Captain Daren in particular voiced a desire to be away, out in space
and moving again. Lieutenant D'rall, meanwhile, proceeded with a
bit of an unorthodox method for exploring the Second Chamber: after
jogging around it for a bit, she commandeered one of the many
vehicles abandoned by the Jjaro and used it to scout the area. In
the latter effort, she met with Doctor Reed, still trying to solve a
number of mysteries about the Chamber's interior, particularly the
significance of D'rall's earlier skeletal find.

The Admiralty staff concerned themselves with more philosophical
pursuits. Though we've learned a stunning amount over the last few
weeks, there hadn't been much time until this moment to try to pull
all of it together and try to make some sense of it. Savant also
had another startling revelation of her own: she informed the staff
that she has been somehow connected to a new source of information
and talked calmly about events happening millions of light-years
away... despite the fact that she has no way that we'd know of to
know the information she revealed. General Ironside and Rear
Admiral Lora Kor also revealed that they are having a very similar
dream, in which a doppleganger of the General was training the two
men for battle. Though the two men's dreams differed in some
details, they were the same in basic form. The group speculated on
whether Ironside is projecting his dreams somehow, or if Lora Kor is
picking up on them.

This was not the only unusual happening in the Fourth Chamber, where
the Admiralty Staff was. Both Commander Drexler and Major Prescot
reported "boojum sightings": the feeling that they (or in Drexler's
case, General Ironside) were being watched or followed. Both
Drexler and Prescot caught sight of the apparitions out of the
corner of their eye, but could not get a close look at the
phenomenon when they looked it it directly. There have been dozens
of such boojum sightings since we entered Xanadu, and they are still
unexplained.

With only another week or so before Coronado's repairs are
completed, it is likely that the frigate will soon have another
mission assigned. This leaves us with very little time remaining to
finish our explorations of Xanadu for the time being. With this in
mind, Rear Admiral Lora Kor announced his intention to proceed
deeper into the Fourth Chamber and have a look at one of the
"probability stacks" that the Expedition Two team reported are a
major part of the geography of the Fourth Chamber. He also
announced that he has a theory: while the Expedition Two team
reported that time doesn't operate properly in the vicinity of the
stacks, Lora Kor advocated an alternate theory: the fact that it's
entropy, and not time, that is disrupted...
