Sim Title: "In the Presence of Mine Enemies", Part 3
Teaser and Pre-Sim:
-------------------
Xanadu translates -- that is, appears to move -- from its current
position far to the "west" of Defender space to the region where
Coronado disappeared. In the process, she leaves two squadrons of
Wraiths that were defending the approaches to the asteroid-starship
behind. Upon reaching the area where Coronado vanished, she
envelops the spatial distortion into which Coro disappeared with a
field of some kind of energy...
During the Sim:
---------------
Frustrated with the progress they were making, the Drohak sent in
the Hounds, their most efficient trackers. Packs of them flooded
onto Coronado's decks with blood-lust in their eyes. Their mission
was to hunt down the S'pht captives they believe to be present on
the ship.
In the brig, the Drohak leader attempted once again to negotiate the
release of the S'pht captives, but Daren continued to deny them
this, even in exchange for the medical attention Smith desperately
needed. Instead, he wagered he could break out of the Starfleet
prison cell (which was technically impossible), but Savant was still
free and surprised the Drohak by beginning to drain the air from the
room. The Hunters, adapting as quickly as possible, began
disrupting the power flow to the main computer which shut Savant
down, but also dropped the force fields in the brig momentarily.
The Hunters were quickly overwhelmed, desperate for air, and blew
their way out of the room, retreating. Power came back online,
though Savant appeared to be damaged.
Farley and Tarus took advantage of their position in the scarred
bowels of the ship and attempted to do their part to help their
crew mates. They secured an undamaged workbee and guided it to the
underbelly of the Drohak boarding ship, planting an explosive.
Although it blew a hole into the enemy vessel, the shock wave caused
even further damage to Coronado's very fragile hull.
Paqui's escort pushes towards the bridge with little resistance.
They travelled into position over the deck nine command area and
assessed the situation. There were six Hunters on the bridge, but
four of them were unarmed. A strange event happened, though. As
Ironside began to descend into the CIC, an errant Hound quietly
entered, though it hadn't spot the team. Suddenly, it ran onto the
bridge and attacked one of the Hunters! Paqui had apparently
exerted his will for food onto the Hound, and the Hound proceeded to
look for the nearest edible thing, which happened to be a Hunter on
the bridge. Finding something the team could use to their
advantage, they asked Tlaloco to see about subduing the forces on
the bridge.
As Paqui drifted to sleep in the tubes over the bridge, so did the
Hunters below, according to plan. The team descended onto the deck
proper and began securing the bridge, though Savant had done a fair
job of destroying most of the consoles there. Before the bridge was
completely secured, the Drohak leader and his team entered.
Frustrated, the Drohak leader dropped his weapon, unwilling to see
any more destruction to the ship or his people, as Lora Kor and
others approached him with their weapons drawn. They came to an
agreement on working together to escape the confines of the anomaly
in short order and the Drohak began leaving the ship, both sides'
noses bloodied.
