Notes from the Admiral:
Once again, I'd like to compliment everyone on the excellent
character-development sim this week! :) I was VERY impressed by
the work everyone did on this one! Nearly everyone had a good
character moment on this one. Keep up the great work!
CCC aka Lt. Commander Jack C. Farley, is having Internet access
troubles at the moment. As a result, I have placed him on extended
leave of absense until his return. I for one hope that he returns
soon, and he'll definitely have his job back when he does. ;)

Sim Title: "Marching Orders", Part 2
Teaser and Pre-Sim:
-------------------
Three perspectives on Xanadu. First, someone named Olmy, apparently
representing the "Central Nexus," whatever that is, entered an
Alexandria apartment building. Once there, he called the Nexus to
inform them that Xanadu has been reoccupied... Meanwhile, Vice
Admiral Aldur wrote to his great nephew Jeremiah to hint at the
boy's future. Finally, Rear Admiral Wallace informed Admiral
Theron that a science team broke through to the fourth chamber of
Xanadu, but that they apparently discovered a horrifying secret that
Wallace wants kept secret.
During the Sim:
---------------
Coronado held her position in Reor'sa orbit for yet another morning,
assisting with the repair and recovery efforts on the planet. Rear
Admiral Lora Kor entered the CIC that morning, obviously annoyed.
Overnight, he had been monitoring reports from Xanadu, indicating
that the science team there was close to breaching the third chamber
barrier. However, by morning, there was no evidence that the team
was successful and the Admiral is apparently being put off.
Troubled, Lora Kor asked Savant, who would obviously know, whether
the team was successful. Savant tried put the Admiral off, then
seemed to relent. The two left the CIC, but their conversation was
interrupted when Savant's interface went on the fritz. Lora Kor
contacted the Bridge to determine what might be going on, and was
told that whatever is disrupting Savant was coming from Commander
Tlaloco's quarters.
Meanwhile, Commander Tlaloco had problems of his own. While
Commander Oswald was willing to visit him in the Brig and to watch
his son, Paqui, Tlaloco faces a terrible choice. Commander Smith
insisted that Tlaloco's career as an officer in Starfleet is over.
While Tlaloco broods over this, he considers the future his son may
have. Tlaloco believes that Paqui is half-Pfhor; however, the child
has powers that no Pfhor possesses. It was soon clear that it was
Paqui was the one interfering with Savant's operation. The Admiral
arrived at the brig with a possible theory: that Paqui is not half-
Pfhor, but half-S'pht. Doctor Dyson soon confirmed this theory:
Paqui is in fact half-S'pht. This obviously raised some very
significant security concerns. If Paqui can disrupt Savant, he
could potentially disrupt any system aboard Coronado, or indeed any
computer system on any planet or facility he is taken to.
Our new CMO, Doctor Reed, is also having problems adjusting to his
new ship. Both Captain Daren and Commander Smith called Reed into
the Ready Room, intent on giving the CMO an attitude adjustment.
This did not go smoothly, to say the least. Reed was unrepentant,
seeing very little value in strict Starfleet protocol. Commander
Smith, in particular, had to struggle to keep his temper. Captain
Daren was more practical, but definitely had the greater impact on
Reed. He calmly and clearly explained the ship's chain of command,
then instructed Reed to report to the Marine Regimental Commander
for administrative punishment... with a reduction in rank to Lt.
Commander. Needless to say, Reed was quite angry at this treatment,
and it is unclear as to whether he has learned anything.
While the Admiral was below decks, Commanders Drexler and Ma'Aru
hadn't forgotten Lora Kor's frustration about Xanadu. The Admiral,
in particular, is concerned about Wallace's motives, feeling that
secrecy between fellow officers about a matter of such importance is
a mistake... and was one of the causes of the Starfleet insurrection
in the Milky Way. Lora Kor was convinced that he's being lied to
about a failure to breach the barrier to the third chamber; Drexler
concluded that this must mean that the science team was successful.
Between interruptions, first by Major Prescot, then by the newly-
minted General Ironside, the two officers speculated about how to
find out what's going on in Xanadu, or what might have been
discovered there that is so important that it might warrant extreme
secrecy. However, without firm data, they couldn't do much more
than speculate.
There was yet another surprise for the Coronado crew: 1st Lieutenant
Natalia Petrovna, trapped on Reor'sa when the planet was overrun by
the Pfhor, came aboard ship. True to her fighter pilot instinct,
Petrovna was after one target: Lt. Colonel Wayne. The two spent
some time far below decks getting reacquainted. They weren't the
only people indulging in a personal moment. Commander Oswald came
down to the Brig, bringing Paqui with her so that Tlaloco could see
his son. Oswald was quite worried about the fate of Tlaloco and his
son, particularly when the Captain and Exec arrived to discuss it
with Lora Kor. However, the Admiral was surprised at the level of
apparent control the Chief Engineer appears to have over Tlaloco's
son. This seemed to give him an idea about how to resolve that
particular problem...
