Notes from the Captain:
Going to keep things to a minimum this week, as I am once again
running late. ;-) Gotta love late fall weekends in Colorado. I
spent half of yesterday raking leaves, and a quarter of today
shovelling snow and salting my drive- and walkways...
The problems with the log system (see earlier e-mail) certainly
didn't help...
We bid farewell to Thompson, aka Jason Vogel, who is finding himself
bogged down with the many sims he attends and his many UCIP and
real-life responsibilities and as a result, resigned from virtually
all of his sims except one. For reasons that I can't completely
understand, that one *wasn't* Coro. ;-) Ah well. Here's hoping
the burn-out doesn't last long, Thompson!

Sim Title: "S'pht'kr", Part 3
Teaser and Pre-Sim:
-------------------
Rear Admiral Tebrun Lora Kor frets over his defensive plans for the
Longshot system and the Jjaro artifact known as Xanadu. While the
defenses seem sound, and should be good to stop even an extremely
large assault on the system, Lora Kor is worried that the Pfhor will
strike with overwhelming forces. Late in ship's night, he convinces
Savant to accompany him to a secret location where the Admiral hopes
to recruit additional allies...
During the Sim:
---------------
Captain Daren called a meeting of his senior staff to discuss
activating the Jjaro Catapult. We know the effects of the Catapult:
near-instantaneous transport to virtually any location that we can
specify precisely enough. However, what we don't know is precisely
how to activate or program the device. A team is put together to
determine this and headed for the Catapult control room.
In the meantime, what Coronado should do once she reaches Lh'owon
was the subject of another discussion. It is increasingly possible
that if the Pfhor haven't garrisoned the system already, that
they're about to. As a result, the Marines will embark aboard the
Pfhor transport Absalom. It is Absalom that will be sent into the
system first, partially to scout aboard an innocuous platform,
partially to put a full Regiment on Lh'owon in case the Pfhor
already hold the planet.
While Coronado herself will be going to Lh'owon, Admiral Lora Kor
determines that his place is on the other side of the Catapult,
defending Longshot and Xanadu. To this end, he finalized his
defense plans, then revealed to Commanders Drexler and Ma'Aru that
he will be leaving the system for several hours in order to
potentially recruit additional allies. He also briefed the
Whitestone staff on a worrisome mystery: explosions have taken
place aboard two Defender vessels... quite possibly sabotage.
Commander Drexler will hold the fort in Longshot, while Commander
Ma'Aru both investigates the explosions and further refines the
system's defense plan against cloak-capable vessels. Lora Kor then
brought Drexler and Ma'Aru to a meeting with Captain Daren. At that
meeting, the Admiral informed Daren that should Xandu be in danger
of falling to the Pfhor, Lora Kor will order the facility
destroyed... with Coronado on the far side of the Catapult if need
be. He stressed that he cannot allow Xanadu to be captured by the
Pfhor, who are masters at reverse-engineering advanced technology.
The Admiral then boarded Kelaka and prepared to depart, with Savant
as virtual co-pilot. Coronado and her group (including Absalom)
proceeded to the Catapult, which has since been activated. Colonel
Wayne's Raptors Squadron is the first group through, to scout the
other side. They soon reported that the Catapult operated
successfully... but that Colonel Wayne himself was apparently
rendered unconscious by the journey. Coro's officers had no time to
consider this: the frigate was drawn into the Catapult soon after,
with the rest of her group trailing.

location of this facility means that any cloaking attempts are
fragile at best. Any change in radiation levels would reveal them to
us.
<CRS1_Drexler> CIC> ::nods:: But like Savant said, maybe we can use
the radiation to our advantage.
<RAGC_LoraKor> CIC> ::nods:: Could Alicia be talked into helping us
with something like that? Or would she say we needed Nexus
