Notes from the Captain:
Welcome to the holiday season, at least in the U.S. :) I'm going
to try to have Coro sims as many Mondays as possible the next eight
weeks, but it's possible that there will be a week or two break in
there somewhere. If you have any strong opinions about whether
there should or should not be sims on the 23rd and 30th of December,
please let me know now so I can start planning for it. ;)
We've been a little lighter on logs this week than I would have
expected for some reason. If you need some information to complete
a log, please don't hesitate to e-mail me about it, or catch me on
IRC. :)

Sim Title: "S'pht'kr", Part 1
Teaser and Pre-Sim:
-------------------
At Vice Admiral Aldur's orders, Coronado, Vanquish, and Masada are
to remain within the Jjaro artifact known as Xanadu and continue our
investigations of the interior. At least some people were affected
by the recent "incident," and there's no real way to know how far
the effect spread outward from the asteroid...
During the Sim:
---------------
Rear Admiral Lora Kor, in a pensive mood, walked to the ship's
Arboretum, holding a conversation with Savant on the way down. The
Admiral made it clear that he had a somewhat speculative idea about
how to get the location of Lh'owon, the S'pht's homeworld, though he
didn't want to discuss the exact idea. Instead, he asked Savant to
get Kelaka ready to fly down to Alexandria, along with a team of
anyone from the senior flag staff who might be interested in coming
along. Savant, Ma'Aru, and Drexler elected to follow Lora Kor to
the surface, as did Colonel Ironside, who reminded Lora Kor that it
was against regulations for him to go to the surface without an
armed escort.
Meanwhile, Commander Smith had a bit of a discipline problem:
Commander Oswald. After attempting without much great success to
explain to her what being a senior officer is all about, he offered
the young woman a compromise: an on-the-spot demotion for her
insubordination in exchange for skipping what would likely be a
disruptive and divisive court-martial. Oswald accepted the
compromise. Meanwhile, the object of the argument, Commander Olme
Tlaloco, continues to lie completely dormant in Coro's Sickbay,
either in a coma or a sort of stasis that we do not yet understand.
Commander Smith seemed relieved to have the problem dealt with for
the moment, but was also disturbed at the fact that he completely
lacks memories of the recent alternate universe "incident."
Others, who do have memories of their other selves, did their best
to try to integrate that new data into their understandings of
themselves. Particularly hard hit was Lauren Dyson, who carries
memories of violence... violence committed by someone she has never
even met in this timeline. Lieutenant Vogel and her husband,
Commander Dyson, did what they could to ease her suffering. Smith,
meanwhile, tried to come to terms with the fact that his alternate
in the other timeline might very well be dead...
Commander Farley, whose memories of the other timeline revolve
around him being Chief Engineer, found himself acting as Chief
Engineer in this timeline with Oswald's incarceration. Among the
first duties he had to learn: breaking in a new assistant engineer.
Farley, so good with situations of a technical nature, now must find
it within himself to deal with situations a little less precise...
Lora Kor took his group to a military airfield in Alexandria where
they brought one of the advanced fighter craft hangared there
on-line... in essence, trying to learn the location of Lh'owon from
the Jjaro themselves. He first had to disconnect the fighter from
Xanadu's communications system, to prevent Alicia from interfering.
The Admiral and his team were eventually successful, and transmitted
the navigational data to Coronado.
Outside Xanadu, a large group of Pfhor ships broke the peace and
quiet in the system, attacking the patrols outside the asteroid. In
the process, they revealed that they have reverse-engineered
cloaking technology, probably from Reorsan patrol craft. Masada
exited the asteroid, followed by Vanquish and Coronado, who
struggled to keep the Pfhor from entering Xanadu. A few transports
managed to slip within the asteroid; all were eventually destroyed,
save for one which Coro towed to the asteroid's axis after great
difficulty. The battle was eventually won, with the help of several
members of the Admiral's team, who managed to bring Alexandria's
advanced weapons emplacements into the fight.
