Notes from the Captain:
The only problem with a complex sim like Coro is writing the sim
reports. They can get rather long and involved. ;)
I have this week accepted with regret Archyyt's resignation. While
he disputes the circumstances of his removal from UCIP, he
apparently has no interest in fighting it. He also made it clear
that he will be looking for another group to apply his simming
skills in. I for one wish him well and hope you will too. :/ See
you around, AA...
See the rest of you next week! :)
Sim Title: "Articles of Faith", Part 2
Teaser and Pre-Sim:
-------------------
On the Spindle, two Ĉon discuss a "tear" that has formed on one of
the "spools" that they guard. One of the Ĉon blames the tear on
beings in the spool that can indirectly touch the threads on the
Spindle -- in other words, knowingly or unknowingly affect all of
spacetime for their universe. The tear prevents the two Ĉon from
interfering directly, and places the spool at risk of destruction.
Since they cannot assist directly, the two decide to intervene
"uptime" of the tear...
During the Sim:
---------------
In a preliminary to what are likely to be many changes related to
the signing of the Articles of Alliance, Vice Admiral Wallace is
promoted and selected to replace Charlie Theron as the new Supreme
Commander of the Defender space forces. The Admiral gives a speech
which seems to be bland generalities, but focuses on the point that
it is his belief that the Defenders are more important in peacetime
than ever... Many listen to Wallace's speech in person, or aboard
Defender starships, including Coronado.
As these events are happening, Tebrun Lora Kor is meeting with
Savant on the planet. The Trill businessman asks Savant's opinion
on a number of technical subjects before broaching what is almost
certainly the real topic of conversation on his mind: whether Savant
can be recruited into Whitestone. Savant seems eager enough for
this opportunity, and the two conclude a handshake agreement. Lora
Kor promises to do what he can to establish the avatar's legal
rights as Coronado heads for her decommissioning. Just as the two
complete their agreement, they are interrupted by Wallace, who is
looking for Captain Drexler, and wants to know if Lora Kor has ever
been aboard Coronado.
Savant, meanwhile, is simultaneously conversing with Lt. Jarod
Bentall, in Coronado's brig, and assisting in ship operations.
Also aboard ship, a JAG officer convenes the rape and assault trial
of Jason Thompson. However, the trial is interrupted in mid-
testimony when Thompson disappears without a trace. He isn't the
only one; a number of other Coronado crew members also disappear, as
well as crew on other Defender ships and facilities. The
disappearances seem to be concurrent with a "ripple" of sorts
nearby. Soon, a significant percentage of Coro's crew is missing.
These disappearances spread and become more dangerous and
frightening, entire ships and facilities -- including an entire
shipyards and colony -- vanishing. Wallace returns to Pegasus just
as Pegasus herself vanishes, leaving Wallace and dozens of others
stranded in space. While Coro rescues the survivors, other ships
move to rescue those few left in space when other ships and
facilities vanish. Savant convinces Lora Kor to get back to his own
transport and when the Trill launches it, his transport also
disappears. Both Lora Kor and Wallace are beamed to Coronado.
Aboard Coro, Captain Drexler is haunted by memories of an alternate
life, one in which he is not Commanding Officer of Coronado. He
does his best to convince others of what he is experiencing; his
story is quickly made more believable by the unexplainable
disappearances. Drexler turns Coronado toward Xanadu, an asteroid
relic that is the site of his last remembrances in these alternate
memories...

SUMMARY: Attendance 18/20 (1E) + 1 guest (11 after-simmers, 10 logs)
U.S.S. Coronado Complement Changes:
2nd Lieutenant Anthony Archyyt, resigned from Starfleet.
Promotions:
None this week.
Recognitions:
None this week.
Academy Completions:
Lieutenant Lauren Dyson
Academy Science Course (100%)
An outstanding score on what can be an extremely difficult
Academy course! Well done, Natty! :)
Exchange of the Week: Apparently, when you flirt, the evidence is
left in the cells of your hair-- huh? ;)
<[LCSIDyson]> ::Isamu runs the test data against the Time frame in
the video evidence and the hair folicles match the frames
completley::
<|LCJAG_Vogel|> ::stands up:: The age of the hair is also
irrelevant. It is probable that Thompson and Dyson had some sort of
incidential contact that day, from Dyson's flirtations with
Thompson, as the defense will endeavour to show. The transmittance
of hair follicles could have happened in any number of ways.
<|LCJAG_Vogel|> ::sits down and chuckles slyly::
<|Ltdr_Dyson|> I -I didnt fl...flirt! ::starts sobbing, tears
streaming down her cheeks::
<[LCSIDyson]> ::He stood up:: when the hair folicle is removed from
the cell that gives it life your honor the cell undergoes mitosis
this process is a natural process with all cells yes theres the
possiblity but once a cell dies the cell dies and the imprint is
left with out the trace flirting howevor is not the question here
<|LCJAG_Vogel|> The defense does not despite that the hair follicle
left the bald scalp of Thompson only that the circumstances which
the prosecution is giving is a clever but false "spin" of what
really happened.
