Notes from the Captain:
Outstanding role-playing and problem-solving this week, everyone!
:) As I mentioned at the end of the sim, Coronado has no cheat
codes and I'm definitely not giving anything away during this
episode, so you can congratulate yourselves for all the progress
you're making thus far. :) Keep it up, and don't get frustrated!
I've been advised that Stefan will be transferring his Ens. Stefan
Bjornson character back to the U.S.S. Crazy Horse but may very well
be rejoining us using another character. ;)

Sim Title: "Xanadu", Part 2
Teaser and Pre-Sim:
-------------------
Savant briefs Vice Admiral Aldur on some of the records found in
Xanadu's computers, including details on its chief architect,
Alexander Kile, and his ancestors. Aldur is somewhat surprised to
learn that Alexander Kile is his great grand-nephew through his
brother's side; Kile will be born in the Milky Way in 2415. The
construction of Xanadu begins about 60 years later. Aldur points
out that this is a potential predestination paradox; if he returns
to the Milky Way, he can prevent this chain of events from
occurring. Savant counters with another shocking statement: Xanadu
has records of events in the Milky Way well into the 2480s, and
those records indicate those trapped in M64 never return...
During the Sim:
---------------
Coronado remained locked to the docking platform near the
singularities. Tendrils of some kind were attached to the frigate's
turbolift interconnects, and attempting communications with the
docking platform failed to release them. Captain Daren ordered
first, a gentle attempt to depart from the platform, then a more
firm attempt. Though the latter brought all Coro's significant
sublight thrust to bear, the frigate was unable to break free; it
seemed likely that the ship would pull herself apart before the
tendrils broke. Daren therefore sent an engineering team outside
the ship to attempt to cut the tendrils free.
Meanwhile, the Whitestone command staff joined the away teams in the
city we now know is called Alexandria. The various away teams
consolidated in one of the most significant features in Alexandria:
a partially ruined tower more than three kilometers in height. On
the ground level of the tower, all but a beautiful cystalline ante-
chamber had been destroyed at some time in the distant past.
However, the Whitestone team, aboard Kelaka, discovered another
series of chambers higher up in the tower. Admiral Lora Kor used
Kelaka's transporters first, to put the rest of the Whitestone staff
on this level of the tower, and then to put the other away teams
investigating Alexandria there.
Masada had a different problem: our captured Pfhor cruiser was
monitoring a possible cloaked ship of some kind inside the second
chamber, almost certainly monitoring us. Neither Masada's somewhat
primitive sensors, or the more advanced sensors available to
Coronado were able to pin down the vessel, however. While doing
this, Masada approached the portals to what is presumably the third
chamber of the asteroid. However, those portals did not open at
that time, and Masada returned to a position near Coronado.
At that moment, though, sensors failed on all the Defender ships in
the second chamber, either because of something the away team was
doing in the tower or because of some unrelated cause. This greatly
slowed the exploration of the tower, where the away team eventually
isolated at least two operational chambers. One team, led by
Commander Smith, reached a sort of medical bay equipped with stasis
pods. Another team, led by Commander Drexler, found something that
could very easily be a control room of some kind. In the stasis pod
room, the team there made a surprising discovery: Commander Olme
Tlaloco and his infant son, safely in stasis and apparently only
recently placed there. A nearby Starfleet-issue PADD containing
Tlaloco's logs showed a recent log dated only two weeks before.
Coronado, meanwhile, continued to go nowhere. Both a flight of
Banshees ordered to fire on the tendrils and an engineering team
ordered to cut them failed to do so. Whatever the tendrils are made
of, it is a very tough, resilient material resistant to our
technology. The Whitestone staff turned their attention to the
control room they'd found, trying to learn its functions while
Commander Smith's team debated whether or not to revive Tlaloco and
his son...
