 Notes from the Captain:

 Pretty long sim report this week.  :)  There were a lot of subplots
 happening, so if you were unable to keep up with some of them, I've
 highlighted several in this week's report.  Next week's sim is going
 to be pretty busy wrapping them up, I can tell.  ;)

 A brief "see you soon" to Alffred, aka Caring-Thoughts, who will be
 taking an extended leave for the remainder of the summer.  See you
 in September, Alffred!  :)

 During the months of July and August, anyone who writes a written
 e-mail log will receive double promotion credit (two points instead
 of one) for that log.  Partially, this is to encourage the rather
 slow log count we had in May and June, partially it's to offset the
 fact that a lot of the sims between now and the end of August will
 be of a more action-oriented bent without a lot of time for
 character development.  So, get out there and write some logs!  ;)

 Sim Title: "Minions of the Pfhor", Part 2

 Teaser and Pre-Sim:
 -------------------
 Vice Admiral Aldur, Rear Admiral Marshall, and Lt. Commander Jim
 Owens from Aldur's staff discuss the nature of Pfhor communications.
 Specifically, Owens reveals his belief that the Pfhor somehow "pay"
 some type of carrier lifeform to carry their transmissions.  He
 points to the fact that Pfhor data goes in "one direction" and the
 energy needed to transmit the data goes in antoher as proof.  Owens
 also explains that Pfhor communications have another interesting
 difference from subspace communications: the speed of subspace
 communications is constant, but not the speed of Pfhor
 communications.  More important Pfhor messages... arrive faster.

 During the Sim:
 ---------------
 U.S.S. MacArthur and C.W. Shining Bard, a Camelynian troop
 transport, escorted five squadrons of Wraith class corvettes to
 their rendezvous with the Pfhor Hegemony destroyer selected as a
 capture target.  Several of the Wraiths were piloted or crewed by
 Coronado senior officers, and Coro's fighters were docked aboard
 MacArthur, awaiting arrival.  The destroyer had been isolated by
 Apori attacks earlier in the day and by the time the capture group
 arrived, the destroyer's defenses had already been weakened,
 simplyfing the coming job.

 Though every ship in the capture group was cloaked, the Hegemony
 destroyer somehow detected the group at close range and attempted
 to escape.  This proved to be a futile gesture, but the destroyer
 was able to successfully launch strike craft.  The capture group
 was obliged to launch fighters to counter this, and the capture
 operation was soon taking place in the midst of a furball. 
 Fortunately, the Pfhor ignored the smaller Wraiths, focusing their
 attacks on the larger ships in the capture group.  This allowed the
 Wraiths to attach normally and deploy their computer-based weapons. 
 The Hegemony destroyer's defenses were further disabled by power
 losses induced by the Wraiths.

 Marines from MacArthur and Camelynian Shadow Knights from Shining
 Bard then boarded the crippled destroyer, one group at the far aft,
 one group far forward.  They then advanced toward each other.  The
 capture attempt seemed to be a complete surprise to the destroyer's
 crew, who were caught in the midst of damage-control efforts.  This
 allowed both the Marines and Knights to advance very quickly,
 initially.  Meanwhile, once the boarding parties were beamed to the
 destroyer, our two light capital ships moved in to help the fighters
 mop up the reamining Pfhor strike craft.

 As the operation proceeded, without our knowledge, Commander Tlaloco
 had slipped away from the rest of the group and boarded Yamashita
 Maru, one of the support freighters associated with MRF Pearl.  Once
 aboard, he commandeered one of the freighter's shuttlecraft. 
 Setting away from the freighter on a self-imposed "mission of
 peace," he intended to contact the Pfhor Hegemony himself.  The
 freighter, partially disabled by some sort of virus, was unable to
 pursue.  Tlaloco was soon able to identify and intercept one of the
 other Pfhor destroyers isolated by the Apori...

 The boarding action left those still aboard the Wraiths with little
 to do except monitor the operation.  Nearby Apori craft handled the
 job of jamming Pfhor communications, but Lieutenant Hammond was
 able to detect that the destroyer was attempting to transmit.  She
 soon turned her attention to working on a device that would capture
 Pfhor communications.  Because Pfhor comms are at least partially
 telepathic in nature, Hammond's device would require a telepath to
 use it, potentially exposing that telepath to significant danger
 from monitoring the Pfhor communications.  Rear Admiral Lora Kor,
 aboard the same Wraith, expressed grave concerns with Hammond's
 plans to do this, particularly while the latter is pregnant.

 Teams aboard Commander Smith's Wraith assisted with the boarding by
 transporting antimatter charges into troop concentrations aboard the
 destroyer and the assault soon centered on the location of the
 ship's two Minions.  The teams attempted to capture these lifeforms,
 but both Marines assisted by Savant and Camelynian Shadow Knights
 were unsuccessful.  When exposed to even non-lethal fire, the
 Minions were killed (some form of suicide?); however, both teams
 managed to capture several S'pht.  The Marine/Savant team captured
 three: one cylinder and two "brains."  Savant linked into the
 Minion's slot to attempt to communicate with the cylinder.  This
 immobilized her...

 ...while aboard one of the Wraith's, Hammond's water broke...
