Notes from the Executive Officer:
Excellent turnout everyone! I know I speak for my partner in this "Op",
uh I mean sim, Fras that we are both very happy that so many of the crew
could be here. This week we finish up the second installment of our first
episode without the ship for a while.
Also, this sim was supposed to finish up with a game of capture the flag
in which the crew would be divided into teams while Col. Ironside
observed. However with because of time we were unable to get there. It
will be up to Jester to see if we can squeeze this in next week or if we
will have to "time jump" over it. ;-)

Coro's current position is the Reor system, which you'll find in Grid
004 next to the smaller of the two nebulae on the main map. Of course, if
you don't know where Reor is by now, you're probably not paying any
attention to the map... ;-)
Sim Title: "Boot Camp", Part 2
Teaser and Pre-Sim:

Nearly a week after the surprise attack on the Coro crew gathered in
remembrance of their fallen Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ungtae Brie, the
attacks were continuing and making everyday life on Reorsa a bit
unsettling. It soon became clear that nearly everyone living on Reorsa
should be given basic military training and to be ready for anything that
may come their way. Training facilities were set up all over the area.
The Coro crew gathered at one such training facility and went to sleep one
night not quite sure of what the expect in the morning....
During the Sim:
---------------
....when Marine Commandant Col. Ironside burst though the door waking
everyone up at 0400 hours to their first day of Marine Basic Training.
The day started with an examination by the Commandant of the 'cadets'.
Once he was somewhat satisfied with the way they formed up, the crew took
off on a run which lead to a very unassuming obstacle course. The course
included walls to jump over, mud pits to crawl through under barbed wire,
steep inclines to climb. In short it was hell for many of the regular
Coro crew, for the Marines involved it was another day in the park.
The crew were given a 30 minute break with which to get cleaned up and get
some grub. Despite popular myth about Marines and their food the meal
wasn't as poor in flavor as some were expecting. Loaded with protein and
carbohydrates the meal got the crew ready for the rest of the day. Soon
if was off to the target range where the crew were introduced to the
Marine-issue PPR, Pulse Plasma Rifle. For some, it was a bit more
cumbersome then the phasers and phaser rifles we're used to, but soon they
got used to the size and feel of the weapons.
All in all, Colonel Ironside was proud of the way the non-Marine crew
members handled their first day of 'Basic'.
