This episode is the first submitted by Fraser, also known as Colonel
Jeremy Ironside! :-) Therefore, any comments about the episode should
be directed in his general direction. ;-) If the episode is great, it's
no doubt due to the director. If it sucks, it's the writer's fault!

By the way, I'm going to try to be a little more brief in the sim
descriptions in the sim reports. ::chuckles:: They're starting to
approach the length of the actual sim...

Coro's current position is the G044 system, which you'll find in Grid 014
(above and to the left of Reor, in the very far upper left corner of the
large map on the front page). Vladivostok is in G052, one sector to the
left. Note that the descriptions for both are the ones prior to the
respective ship's arrival. What's available on the map is what we knew
about the systems before we visited them...
Sim Title: "Two Plus Two Equals", Part 2
The reconnaissance team aboard U.S.S. Vladivostok arrived in the Tarndare
system, finding it bustling with activity. More than 20 planets orbit a
total of three major stars and several minor ones, making Tarndare one of
the most complex systems yet discovered to harbor class M worlds. The
mining station was in orbit of the 5th planet of one of the three major
stars, this one a yellow subgiant. There were also a large number of
other vessels in the system, most freighters of one type or another.
However, there were other ships in the system, including a number of ships
that could have easily passed for corvettes or scouts in the Milky Way --
perhaps even pirate vessels. Somewhat cautious, Colonel Ironside ordered
Vladivostok in, but not before the Starfleet ship was contacted by another
of the ships in the system. This ship, the "Groktha mining vessel Dorja,"
whoever they are, had a business proposition for the Colonel: they wanted
the ship's warp drive technology and made both veiled threats and promises
in order to get it. The Colonel refused and launched the Wraiths to
search for the Dorja, since it was unclear which ship sent the message.
Meanwhile, Coronado waited in the Omsi system, some 40 light-years distant
from Tarndare for the recon team to return. However, as Vladivostok was
arriving there, Coro received a distress call from a nearby Kioth mining
colony in the nearby G044 system. Shutting down our LORASON system to
keep from being detected in Tarndare, Coro moved in to assist. A platoon
of Marines was sent down first to find that a battle had taken place, but
appeared to be over. Engineering and medical teams followed to assess the
damage to the colony and see to any wounded. It took some time to find
a few survivors, and those survivors said little about who had attacked
their colony or where those attackers might have gone or what happened to
them. Coro directed the away teams to a room where a larger number of
survivors seem to have gathered, behind makeshift barricades.
Two teams boarded the Tarndare mining station after submitting to an
inspection from a large two-legged, four-armed sasquatch-like being.
Entering the main body of the mining station, they found it arranged along
very practical lines, with a central core from which projected a number of
spars with docking ports, storage areas, and recreational and supply
outlets for the various species visiting. The teams immediately set to
work trying to learn of the Accursed, among other activities. One team
was able to determine that bipedal lifeforms (such as humanoids) are not
held in high regard, and Savant found that Accursed vessels frequently
dock at Tarndare, specifically in the two largest docking ports at the top
of the station. This combination of information was enough to confirm
that there is only one other bipedal lifeform that visits Tarndare: one
called the "Pfhor," and that theirs are the ships that dock in the largest
docking ports.
The recon team didn't have long to wait for confirmation. As they were
piecing this information together, an enormous vessel folded into the
Tarndare system. The vessel announced itself as a vessel of the Pfhor.
What the intel team saw was a twin to the ship that destroyed the Reorsan
starship Dauntless five years ago. The Pfhor are the Accursed.
