 Notes from the Captain:

This episode is the first submitted by Fraser, also known as Colonel
Jeremy Ironside! :-) Therefore, any comments about the episode should
be directed in his general direction. ;-) If the episode is great, it's
no doubt due to the director. If it sucks, it's the writer's fault!
::snickers and is glad Ironside is 40 LY away for the next two weeks::

Next week opens with a recognition ceremony to get us completely caught
up with the recognitions due from our last mission. :-)

Remember, a very detailed map of the part of M64 Coro finds herself in is
 available for your review at:

 http://www.jestertrek.com/m64/

Our current position is the Omsi system (H042), which you'll find in Grid
003 (to the immediate left of Reor on the large map on the first page).
In particular, H042 is the small red star near the upper right corner of
 Grid 003.

Sim Title: "Two Plus Two Equals", Part 1

It has been six weeks since Coro's disastrous encounter with the Accursed
transport ships in the Tarwani and G039 systems. Coronado has spent these
six weeks under repair at MRF Pearl while the crew takes some much-needed
liberty on Reorsa or the Meyer colonies. In the meantime, life in our
little portion of M64 goes on. Ships are still under construction in the
Reorsa and Meyer II VABs, repairs to Odyssey continue, and people on
nearby planets are trying to get on with their lives following the
Accursed raids into the area. In addition, with the arrival of U.S.S.
Vanguard and two Camelynian destroyers in M64 via the hypergate, we now
have some more up-to-date news of what's happening in the Federation.

Because it is critical that we learn more about the Accursed, their
technology, and the reasons for their raids, Coronado has been ordered to
conduct an undercover intelligence mission. The Kioth, one of the races
that inhabits this part of space, have given us the location of a neutral
mining base near their former space. While Kioth space itself was ceded
to the Accursed to prevent bloodshed, this mining outpost in the Tarndare
system is still functional and open to all travellers, Accursed and non-
Accursed alike. As a result, we are now en route for that mining base.

Of course, Coronado herself is known to the Accursed, and we have good
reason to believe that every Reorsan starship class is also. Therefore,
the intelligence-gathering team will merely be escorted by Coro, and will
actually travel to Tarndare aboard the Starfleet freighter U.S.S.
Vladivostok, one of the ships that was trapped in M64 with us. This ship
has been heavily modified by the Camelynians during the last few weeks,
with all of her markings removed and her appearance altered as much as
possible to hopefully prevent her from being recognized as a Starfleet
vessel. In addition, the engines have been upgraded and the ship has been
refit as a support ship for our four Wraith class corvettes.

The general plan is for Coro to escort Vladivostok to within striking
distance of Tarndare. At that point, the intel team will board the
freighter and make the rest of the journey aboard her. Coro will be only
minutes away to provide cover if needed, but it is hoped that the frigate
will not be necessary. The mission objective is to learn as much as
possible about the Accursed without it becoming known that Starfleet or
Reorsan personnel are in the area. So, while Coro can assist if things
get dicey, the mission will be classified as a failure if that happens.

On the positive side, Vladivostok is disguised and has the Wraiths for
backup. In addition, Savant can obviously be programmed to represent any
known M64 species in holographic form. The Taer, as masters of illusion,
have also offered their assistance. The latter race claims that they can
make anyone looking at the Starfleet team believe anything the Taer want
them to believe, which is certainly credible given the Taeren's known
power of illusion. However, the mission is still dangerous due to the
simple fact that the team will be alone, right on the border of Accursed-
 controlled space...

Exchange of the Week: You go, Exec! Show her who's boss! ;-)
<CRXO_Daren> WR> ::glances at Ungtae:: Doctor...I've become quite good at
working things with my left hand....that includes a phaser if necessary.
My Command abilities have not been affected.
<CRXO_Daren> WR> ::grins:: I'll be taking you on the team as my guardian
angel Doctor...so don't be too worried ::grins::
<LTDR_Ungtae> WR> It's not about simple object manipulation, sir. You've
had a part of your body forcibly ripped from you under rather traumatic
circumstances. The mental and emotional scarring could be far deeper than
 any of us realize.
<LTDR_Ungtae> WR> ::grabs Daren's good arm and stares up at him
pleadingly:: And I don't want you to go, sir. This sounds far too
 dangerous...
<CRXO_Daren> WR> Doctor...don't go taking off my left arm just so you can
get me back in Sickbay for another month and a half straight. The mission
 is safe.
<LTDR_Ungtae> WR> ::smiles wryly:: How often is any mission with this ship
 and crew "safe"?
<CRXO_Daren> WR> You are no doubt worried about me missing physical
therapy appointments, which is why I'll have you accompany me... among
 other reasons.
<LTDR_Ungtae> WR> ::smiles warmly and eases her grip on Daren's arm:: Of
course. Forgive me. Shall we go take care of that therapy session now?
<CRXO_Daren> WR> ::nods:: Yes I believe we have time for that before we
 get the mission underway.
