Notes from the Captain:
Outstanding attendance this week, everyone! That's definitely what I
like to see. ;) Remember, if you can't make the sim, I don't mind --
just let me know in advance. I like to try to plan to have something
for everyone to do, and if you can't make it, I can give your stuff to
someone else. ;)
Hope you guys can figure out how to get away from two sorcerors and two
people with swords when your phasers are not particularly useful. >:)
If you haven't thought about how to go about that yet, now would
probably be an excellent time to start, unless you wanna try your story
out on the Elders. Who knows? They may only put you in the dungeon for
a couple of months if they think you're lying to 'em... ::snickers::
Sim Title: "Anachronism", Part 2
We are currently in orbit of a planet whose technology appears consistent
with the late Middle Ages on Earth. The system is surrounded by a highly
disruptive class 4 nebula which prevents the operation of transporters,
shields, sensors, and most communications. We entered orbit of the
planet to retrieve Ka'tek vestai'Kharas, who has apparently left Klingon
space with information that he claims is "vital to the survival of the
Federation." He was apparently pursued here by other Klingon ships,
because we found debris from one in orbit and Ka'tek's ship crashed on
the surface near a seaport city. Since transporters are not functional at
this time, an away team boarded the Coronado's new Captain's Yacht, the
"Kelaka" (Cardassian for "dragonhound"), recently completed thanks to the
work of Commander Dejat, Lt. Commander Daren, and Lieutenant Oswald.
While Kelaka flew down toward the planet surface, Lt. Major Wayne and 2nd
Lieutenant Greene, trapped on the surface, made their way in the direction
of the crash site, avoiding one of the planet's local inhabitants: a
number of large dragons! The Kelaka avoided the dragons by having several
shuttlecraft fly a distraction mission ahead of the main body. Kelaka set
down on the planet surface and the Away team disembarked, immediately
picking up Major Wayne. While Dejat remained aboard Kelaka, the Away team
tried to reach the crash site, only to find it already surrounded by more
than a dozen of the local inhabitants -- all humanoid -- on horseback,
already investigating. The Away team was discovered in fairly short
order and while Savant made a very good attempt at explaining their
presense, apparently raised enough suspicions that the team was taken into
custody to speak with the "Elders of the Thistledown," whoever they are.
Meanwhile, we learned a bit about the planet's "technology" -- apparently
magic, or something that could be comfortably described that way -- works
on the surface! The Away team observed several spell-like effects,
including one man who could cast fire and another woman who could throw
lightning bolts. Coro herself received a visitation from a man able to
teleport! The Captain ordered Lieutenant Cavanaugh to put together a
team to work out a way to disable the ability some of the locals have...
