Notes from the Captain:

First, an apology -- the summary this week is extra-long: this was a
complicated sim, with a lot going on, and I wanted to make sure that
everybody caught everything. This whole series is likely to be fairly
complicated, so pay attention! ;) Remember, this series wraps up with
a Special Two-Hour Coronado Event(tm) on the 18th of December. I hope
everyone will be able to attend!

One other reminder: I recommend to all personnel that they pass the
Academy class relating to their specialty. You can find the Academy

Farewell to Major MayTa, who is retiring his character this week! I wish
you well with your other sims and with whatever you decide to do in the

Sim Title: "Implacable Stranger", Part 1

Coronado was cruising toward the Wormwood system when the ship suddenly
dropped out of slipstream. Soon after that, every system on the ship that
relied on subspace communications shut down! In particular, warp drive,
slipstream, communications both inside and outside the ship, and faster-
than-light computing was affected. After some work, internal
communications was restored, as was radio-wave-only communications outside
the ship. The computers stepped down to non-FTL computing. The only clue
to what happened was a Greek letter on the Captain's console: a Delta.

The Captain gathered the senior staff to explain that clue. He explained
that there are 21 "Command Imperative Directives," each named after a
Greek letter. Each one involves a circumstance that could have dire
implications for the Federation, the galaxy, or the universe. The Delta
Directive, in particular, describes a situation that left unchecked, could
result in the destruction of the universe. Specifically, the ship has
detected a growing subspace "flux" that, left unchecked, will eventually
expand to envelop the entire universe. We detected this flux off the port
bow... it was about 400 meters wide when we first detected it.

Meanwhile, Ensign Cavanaugh found something strange on deck 15... a human
male Starfleet Captain... unconscious and severely injured. This man,
later identified as Brian Aldur, was taken to Sickbay. Aldur's presence
is impossible, as Vice Admiral Brian Aldur is in his 60s and commands a
Fifth Fleet Task Group. This Aldur was in his mid-30s and a Captain.

Upon waking, Aldur seemed to "say" "too late" and later "too early."
Meanwhile, ships began emerging from the flux. The first was the very
first starship Coronado in Starfleet... from the 2150s. The second was
apparently a Coronado from the far future... the 2650s. Aldur kept
slipping in and out of consciousness. Every time he came to, another ship
would emerge, replacing the previous ship. The ships seem to be getting
closer and closer to our time.

Unfortunately, as each ship appears, the flux gets bigger and more
destructive. In addition, as each ship appears, it grows more and more
"real" to us. The first ships through were partial phantoms, which we
could see but not detect. All were named Coronado. The latest Coronado,
apparently a Federation timeship from the late 2500s, apparently detected
us right away, and accused of violating the Temporal Prime Directive...

It's too powerful and the power signature is incompatible...it looks...zero-
point based. The message does however have a Starfleet encoding
