 Coronado is currently en route for Starbase 81 in the Omega Penora star
 system, for rearming and resupply.  Along with the other Task Group 5.4
 ships, Coro depleted her weapons stores in the process of assisting in the
 forced disabling and closure of the Traxati hypergate in the Wormwood
 system.  In our case, we have retained six quantum torpedoes for
 self-defense.  Our phaser banks, all but completely depleted during the
 mission, have been recharging over the last several hours.  Phaser capacity
 is currently approximately 40%.

 Ambassador Storn has been transferred to the U.S.S. Stirling, and is still
 in isolation.  He reports that the Traxati's enemies refer to themselves as
 the X!chi... apparently, the "!" sound is made by clicking one's mandibles
 together, if one has them.  Humanoids can approximate the sound by clicking
 their tongue against the roof of their mouth.  The Ambassador is continuing
 to recover from his mindmeld with the X!chi lifeform and will be continuing
 to report on his findings in the coming days and weeks.

 The bulk of the remainder of Task Group 5.4 continues to remain in the
 Wormwood system, communicating with the gravitic drives that control the
 hypergate.  We believe it will be possible to disable this gate by slowing
 its spin speed to 0.92C and then destroying the gravitic drives that change
 the spin rate.  Once the gate is disabled, it will likely be months or years
 before the Traxati are able to mount a repair mission to rebuild the gate's
 drives.  The Brimstone gate is currently under investigation.

 Vice Admiral Aldur has ordered us to Starbase 81 rather than our home port
 of Starbase 742 for several reasons, chief among them the fact that he does
 not wish to further deplete antimatter or weapons supplies at the more
 isolated Starbase 742.  It is possible -- probable, in fact -- that the war
 between the Traxati and the X!chi will continue to spill over into that
 region over the next several months.  We ourselves will be returning to the
 Wormwood/Brimstone systems after rearming.  In the meantime, our slipstream
 capability will carry us to Starbase 81 very quickly.

 Starfleet R&D has completed work on a new type of torpedo munition -- a
 cluster torpedo.  The cluster torpedo uses a series of quantum
 microtorpedoes instead of a single shaped zero-point energy charge.  Upon
 detonation, these microtorpedoes are deployed in a scatter formation or can
 be reprogrammed to select individual targets.  I have high hopes that this
 new weapon will be more effective against the numerous but small Traxati
 probes, and we will be taking a number of these cluster torpedoes aboard at
 Starbase 81.  We will also be taking additional torpedoes into our cargo
 bays for transfer to the other Task Group 5.4 ships.  U.S.S. Renegade is on
 a similar mission, travelling to Starbase 125.

 For now, our mission is to rearm and resupply as quickly as possible before
 returning to the Wormwood system.
