Notes from the Captain:
Welcome to the kick-off of Coro's annual Halloween sim! :) I usually get
a big kick out of these sims, and I hope you will as well. This one is a
bit of a ghost story. We'll get to the ghosts next week. ;)
You're going to notice some new faces among the crew. Chief Petty Officer
Olmeoaxaca W. Tlaloco is the new Chief of the Boat, a real blue water Navy
position. In effect, it makes Mr. Tlaloco the most senior enlisted man
aboard, and also one who is expected to know a little bit about everything.
I suspect he'll be bouncing from position to position as we need different
things done, but watch out for his rather interesting logs as well! :)
Also joining the ship this week is 2nd Lieutenant Marrissa Morgan, who is
joining Mr. Dalton in Medical as a Marine medic. Welcome to both of our
new arrivals! :)
One bit of sad news. Commander Velorna Tal, aka Ol_Army aka Tinky aka
Aggie has unfortunately stepped down from his position for real-life
reasons. He's been a member of the Coro sim for years, and I hope we'll
be able to convince him to come back to us soon. Please be sure to send
him an e-mail and thank him for all of the good times he's brought to us
on Coro. Thank you, Aggie!

Sim Title: "In the Absense of Negative Proof", Part 1
Coronado is proceeding toward Starbase 81 and everything appears normal.
While our torpedoes are depleted save for 6 held for self-defense and our
phasers are recharging, otherwise the ship is undamaged. While en route
to the Starbase for resupply and rearming, Coro was also intercepted by a
number of courier ships, including the Panache, Obsidian, and one civilian-
owned ship. The latter is the property of CPO Olme Tlaloco, the ship's new
Chief of the Boat. New crew were also transferred to Coro on the two
Starfleet ships, including a new assistant medical officer, 2nd Lieutenant
Marrissa Morgan.
The Obsidian brought aboard Fleet Captain Suzanna Blokpoel, who nearly
immediately asked to meet with the Captain. The two spoke for about a
half-hour in the wardroom about the Traxati / X!chi situation. The Fleet
Captain then left to confer with the new Captain of the Erasmus, who will
apparently also be assisting in another Traxati situation, this one in the
Janus system, a Federation member.
Other crew members dealt with their own concerns during the rendezvous.
In particular, in a heart-warming reunion, Mr. Dalton learned that Savant
has been reactivated and is being tested for a full return to duty. These
two particular old friends spent a bit of time deriding each other before
the Captain put a stop to it by noticing that Coro was on approach of the
Starbase... which was apparently 50 light-years out of position and in the
wrong system to boot!
The Starbase turned out to be a near duplicate for Starbase 81. Reviewing
the sensor logs revealed that it had appeared in our path in the Delta
Penora system a few minutes before we passed through that system. The
duplicate Starbase was uninhabited, and appeared from a distance to be an
imperfect copy. The Captain, intrigued, elected to put an Away team on
board. Commander Bentall led the team to the duplicate Starbase Ops deck,
and found that it was inhabited... apparently by ghosts!
