Coronado Crew Update:

Another welcome this week, this time to Cadet Skylooker Aramis, the newest
member of the Coronado Engineering team! Welcome, Cadet! I figure I'll
allow one more new simmer, then we close the sim to new applicants for a
while. :)

Another tidbit: a great big THANK YOU to all of you! For the 10th time in a
row, we had a sim to which everyone either showed up, or told me in advance
that they wouldn't be able to make it. This is a perfectly wonderful habit
to stay in. Well done, and keep it up!! :)

Sim Title: "Patriots in our Midst", Part 2

Unable to track Commander Ragarok's kidnapper, Coronado contacted Starfleet
for guidance and assistance. According to Senator tr'Rhagarokk, the
Commander's cousin, it was a good bet that his kidnapper, tr'Idran, had
kidnapped our science officer for his knowledge of time travel technologies.
Vice Admiral Brian Aldur of Starfleet responded to our request, both sending
reinforcements in the form of the Duj Roj and the Firehawk, and transmitting
the specifications for something called the "Jaunt" drive -- apparently a
Starfleet-sanctioned time-travel device. The device specifications as
transmitted were for a single-use unit that would serve to get Coronado into
the 2160s, specifically at the time of the Earth/Romulan wars, and back.

While T'Prax, Savant, and the engineering team worked to install and test
the Jaunt device, Senator Rhagarokk, Commander Overdark, and Lieutenant
Daren detached the cloaking device from tr'Ragarok's bomber and modified it
for use on the Coronado. The cloak would be necessary once Coro reached the
past, in order to keep her from being detected by either the Earth or
Romulan forces of the time. Both teams worked quickly and under pressure --
if tr'Idran jumped into the past and was successful, it was likely that the
Federation as we knew it would cease to exist! In light of this emergency,
Commander Lora Kor postponed the investigation into T'Prax's attack on Mr.
Dalton.

A team from Firehawk boarded Coronado for the trip to the past, overseen by
2nd Lieutenant Curcio. With all of the preliminaries complete, Coronado
activated the device... and found herself in the year 2160. Unfortunately,
it didn't take long to discover we were two days late! tr'Idran had already
managed to contact a Romulan squadron and delivered the Starfleet
Intelligence runabout to them. This runabout, equipped with phasers,
quantum microtorpedoes, a modern cloaking device, and other 2400-era
technology, simply could not be allowed to fall into Romulan hands -- the
disruption to the timeline would be total. Unable to simply steal the
runabout back without such a disruption of the timeline, Senator Rhagarokk
prepared a deception...
