Coronado Crew Update:
Welcome back Velorna Tal! :-) Our old friend Tinky has elected to rejoin
our little family after a long absense on the Romulan side of the border.
Everyone please welcome Tinky/Tal. :-) On paper, Tal will be the new
Chief Science Officer, but in reality, as we get closer to our anniversary
sims, she'll be acting more in the role of an intelligence officer, doing
research and providing information about the Traxati and their enemies.
Donal tr'Ragarok has left us (apparently to his sorrow :-/) but Dave
Chalker, the man who brought Ragarok to life, will be staying on as a new
character Darius tr'Onto, who will be joining Major Ironside's Marine
regiment! :-) Please say hello to the new Second Lieutenant when you see
him... ::chuckles::
Aramis Skylooker, where are you? ;-) Please send me an e-mail and confirm
for me that you're still alive. You've now missed two sims in a row...
Finally, a great big thank you for the terrific sim this week! There was
lots of character interaction, especially between Daren/Ian/TPrax, Dalton/
Tal, and Bentall/Ironside/Daren. Your humble CO even managed to get a
little involved here and there. :-) Well done to everyone!

Sim Title: "Songbird", Part 2
Both Captain Lora Kor and Commander Dejat found themselves in difficult
positions this week. Running from the terrorist group Omega, Renak Taj, an
old friend of Dejat's family, requested assistance from the Coronado. With
him, he brought a number of stasis pods. Investigation by the Tactical and
Medical staffs confirmed that the pods contained a number of kidnap victims
taken from the area around Vulcan between two and four weeks previously.
The situation was extremely suspicious: Lora Kor was forced to conclude
that Taj was either a kidnapper or a slaver. He pressed Dejat into service
to determine the truth; the Commander was a little uncomfortable having his
loyalties tested so, but came through in the end.
Renak Taj was convinced to surrender, and claimed that though he had worked
willingly for Omega for several months, his conscience had finally caught
up with him. According to him, he rescued the kidnap victims from Omega
and was seeking Starfleet help in releasing them from their bondage and
asylum in the Federation as a way to hide from Omega. It is likely that
the terrorists will want revenge, and only a very strong Starfleet presence
in the area prevented them from attempting to reclaim both Taj and the
pods. Taj is now on his way back to Earth to testify about Omega and seek
immunity; the kidnap victims will be returned to their homes.
Meanwhile, Lieutenants Daren and Ian struggled with a more personal matter:
the recent odd behavior of Lieutenant TPrax, the Chief Engineer. While the
Chief Tactical Officer tried diligently to understand exactly what
happened that day in Seventh Heaven, Ian did her best to help her husband
see that there might be something wrong. TPrax rebuffed their efforts for
the most part. Lieutenant Daren will likely be making a recommendation in
the very near future with regards to the incident...
