Bentall sat in the command chair on the bridge, wondering if today would
finally be the day they would return home. He had expected to be home a week
ago but the trip was taking much longer then originally thought. They had
entered federation space two days earlier, but they need to get to Starbase
205 to report in.
Picking up a PADD he continued to go over his notes of what had happened to
the ship since returning to its own time. He had to be ready to present a
report to Command upon their arrival.
His thoughts were interrupted by Lieutenant Dejat.
"Approaching Starbase 205 Sir." said Dejat, with excitement in his voice.
"Very good Mr. Dejat. Slow to impulse." Bentall replied, turning to face the
on duty tactical officer, "Open hailing frequencies."
"Hailing frequencies open sir."
"Starbase Control this is USS Coronado requesting permission to dock."
"Permission granted Coronado. Welcome home." came back the disembodied
voice.
"Mr. Dejat, She's all yours. I'll be in the ready room gather some items
up." Bentall rose and walked into the ready room.
The crew and ship has miraculously arrived home in one piece for the most
part. Now it was up to Command if Bentall would remain CO or not.
