Coronado Crew Update:
Ensign Titan has been removed from the crew roster for missing four sims
in a row with no announcement.
Important announcement!! Commander Tebrun Lora aka Jester will be going
on an extended Leave of Absense starting AFTER next week's sim! This leave
of absense will be in effect for at least several WEEKS, and perhaps as long
as several months. Watch for more details on the Coronado listserver in an
e-mail immediately after this one. Coro's new CO and XO will be announced
at next week's sim, so please be there!
I've invested more than two years of my life into Coronado, so I will be
back! I hope that you all will keep the sim alive and flourishing until I
can return. :)

Sim Title: "Caravan to Antares", Part 2
Coronado is trapped 87 years in the future! However, we have found a way
home and will be using it very soon. In the meantime, in the
Borg-controlled 2486, what is left of the Federation has elected to evacuate
the remaining home systems through a Traxati "hypergate" -- actually an
artificial wormhole linking Federation space to a distant part of Gamma
quadrant. Once the Federation has been evacuated through the gate, the
hypergate will be destroyed and our future will once more be safe from the
Borg... at least for the several decades it may take to devise a new
defense.
In the meantime, Coronado has been asked to scout the far side of the
Traxati gate, something that we agreed to. Once our scouting mission is
complete on the far side of the gate, we can use a slingshot maneuver to
return to our own time, and then use Commander Reckoning's calculations to
hopefully return to our home systems. There, we can warn the Federation
about the technology the Borg will assimilate to gain control of the
Federation: the subspace weapons technology of the Str'nam, species 16309.
We have four years until the Borg assimilate this race.
The scouting mission, however, is not exactly turning into a good omen. We
have scouted through five systems containing class M planets. All have been
rendered lifeless through a variety of means: two were seeded with a
biological weapon deadly to all animal life. One was reduced to a desert by
some type of biomechanical robot "insect" which destroyed all moisture (and
very nearly a Coro Marine away team). Another was bombed from orbit, and
yet another had its atmosphere stripped away through some hellish unknown
means. In every case where we can make a determination, these catastrophies
happened about 1,000 years ago. We have only one clue: an unknown starship
imaged by a primitive millenia-old weather satellite...
