 Savant watched in horror as the optronic cable snapped out at Major
 Ironside, shocking him severely and dropping him to the deck.  She hadn't
 intended to do that!  She looked down at her own holographic hands, still
 sparking and crackling due to the damage to the holographic emitters in the
 Engineering spaces.  Her hands...

 What had the Captain said?  That his own species included murderers going
 back a million years?  And now she had almost become one.

 Savant looked more closely at the Major as T'Prax bent over him.  Ironside
 wasn't dead -- just stunned.  But Savant could have killed him.  The thought
 shocked her... shocked her down to... well, to her soul.  She gasped and
 looked at her hands again.  She had almost...!

 Her senses were working overtime now -- the ship was shuddering only barely
 in control.  Crew members were outside the ship, attempting to gain access
 to the Bridge.  Dozens of crew members were terrified.  She had almost
 killed Major Ironside, and what she had done to Mr. Dalton!  She shuddered
 and gasped again.  She was risking the lives of the crew!  For her own
 personal gain!  What was she thinking?!

 If Savant had been capable of tears, she would have cried her heart out at
 that moment.  Instead, she winked out, and all of her holograms with her.
