Sim Title: "Faith in Oneself"
Following our missions in the Iju and MJ-1020 systems, Coronado returned to
Starbase 247 for repairs and crew replacements. The ship was moderately
damaged by the gravitational stresses in the Iju system -- primarily hull
microfractures and overloading to the ship's impulse engines. That system
has been quarantined, and a Starfleet science team is being dispatched to
study the neutronium ring structure we found there and the planet we
nicknamed "Blinker."
Our time on 247 represented the first chance for R&R that the Coro's crew
has had since our launch more than three months ago. Some, such as Lt.
Commander Tal, took the opportunity to visit family members stationed
nearby. Cadet Oswald caught up with some of her Academy coursework, and
the Captain and Lieutenant Dejat traded observations and jokes over
beverages at the station's bar. In short, it was a relaxing time for all
concerned.
However, the calm of the station was broken by a number of Klingon vessels
approaching the station. The Klingons recently suffered a civil war, and
while that situation has stabilized, apparently some kind of backlash is
still going on. A single Klingon Bird of Prey, under attack from four
other Klingon ships rushed to the Starbase requesting aid. It's commander,
one Ka'tek vestai-Kharas, was specifically calling for Commander Lora!
Lora immediately asked 247 to extend aid to the crippled Klingon vessel,
which was done. Lora was then called into an emergency meeting to discuss
the matter.
