Coronado Crew Update:
And yet one more resignation: unfortunately, with the start of school,
our brand new CMO, Callie Dakota, is no longer able to make the sim.
I've gone ahead and asked for two new recruits to fill out our roster.

Sim Title: "Eyes Bright with Purpose", Part 1
U.S.S. Coronado was en route for Starbase 247 for hull and engine repairs
when a large fleet of primitive spacecraft were detected on sensors.
Numbering nearly 500, the ships were based around nuclear fusion propulsion
and ablative protection from the interstellar environment. No deflectors
were evident, but the ships were heavily armed: virtually all of them are
carrying heavy lasers and apparent missile emplacements.
The ships were moving at approximately 10% of the speed of light, and Coro
caught up with them easily. Taking a scanning position just out of the
fleet's scanning range, the crew started searching for answers. First, it
was evident their course was for the Zendi star system, an uninhabited
system with 7 planets, one class L. Backtracking their course revealed
that the fleet had apparently launched from the MJ-1043 system. However,
this system is made up of two asteroid belts circling binary stars.
Since it would be some 600 years before the fleet reached Zendi, Starfleet
regulations pointed toward non-interference. However, based on the
extremely suspicious nature of the system from which the fleet launched
and the possibility that their home planet could have been destroyed by
the Killers, Commander Lora has ordered a further investigation of the
fleet, possibly leading to a contact. Commander Tal, Lieutenant Dejat,
and Lieutenant Trq are currently fitting a shuttlecraft for this mission.
