Coronado Crew Update:
One more resignation to report -- hopefully the last one. :/ Sirius
has resigned his position as Company Commander Alfa. Chances are pretty
good that I'll be sending out a call for applications to fill our two
missing positions due to the rather poor turnout Monday...

Sim Title: "Illusion Weavers", Part 3
Aboard ship, the situation had become extremely tense. Savant uncovered a
possible explanation for the neutronium ring: a 200-year-old article in a
Vulcan science journal theorized that such a structure could be used as a
sort of long-range transporter. The article was prophetic, but incredibly
difficult to translate into Federation standard. However, it also
theorized that the extreme gravitational forces around such a ring
structure might well allow transport through time as well as space...
On the surface of variation 43, revealed as Andor of five centuries past,
the situation was no less tense. A civil war -- fought with nuclear
weapons -- broke out between two city-states near the Away team's position.
With the missiles flying over their heads and very little time in which to
make decisions, the Away team elected to take shelter in nearby underground
fissures. Lieutenant Trq theorized that these could be reinforced into
impromptu bomb shelters until the Coronado reappeared to rescue them. The
inhabitants of the nearby Andorian city were apparently doing the same.
With time running out until variation 43 reappeared, Ensign Kosh, Cadet
Oswald, and Lieutenants Bentall and Dejat worked to find a way to "adjust"
the ring's spin rate to guarantee the Away team's reappearance at the
proper time and place. They were successful -- just -- and the Away team
was transported off the surface with severe radiation poisoning but no
casualties. In the process, we have gained some insight into the Killer's
technology. Commander Lora ordered the Iju system quarantined, and Coro is
proceeding back to Starbase 247 for repairs to the hull and engines.
