Excerpt from Department of Temporal Investigations Inquiry into Temporal
 Incident #673841425 (Jaunt-induced Pogo Paradox involving DS9/Bajor
destruction on or about Stardate 50643).

 Questioner: Agent Dan Lucsly, DTI
 Respondant: Captain Brian Aldur, (unassigned)
 Stardate : 52482.2

 EXCERPT BEGINS.

Q001: Well, Captain. Welcome back. I believe this is the seventh time
you've appeared before this body in less than two years. (somewhat
 sarcastically) Very... impressive.

A001: I've been priveliged to be involved in some rather extraordinary
 occurances, Mr. Lucsly.

 Q002: Indeed. Shall we begin?

A002: Any time you're ready, of course.

Q003: Everyone here has read your report, of course, Captain. But perhaps
you could indulge us: could you summarize how you and your crew ended up
 14 months in the past?

A003: Certainly. From what I understand, a Starfleet Corps of Engineers
team had boarded Coronado and was in the process of shutting down her
systems. During that procedure, they apparently unknowingly sent some
kind of power surge into the ship's Jaunt drive, thereby creating what I
 believe is called a paradox.

Q004: Can you explain the paradox?

A004: That's simple enough: the timeline that we found ourselves in came
into being through a future that was impossible for the timeline that we
were in. Since there was no DS9 any more in the timeline we were in,
there was no way a severely damaged Coronado could have reached DS9 and
been boarded by the Corps of Engineers.

Q005: I see. (pauses) Tell me, Captain, do you hold any malice toward
 Starfleet Command?

 A005: I don't understand the question.

Q006: You (emphasis) have been demoted, haven't you? Your command
removed? You and your crew turned out to find new jobs? The Jaunt drive
declared illegal through the recent passage of the Temporal Prime
 Directive?

A006: (tightly) I would not characterize recent events in that fashion,
 Mister Lucsly.

Q007: I see. Captain, please answer the question: do you hold any malice
 toward Starfleet?

[Capt. Aldur's Counsel] Objection. Badgering the witness, your Honor.
 Move to strike.

 [JAG] Sustained.

Q008: I withdraw the question, your Honor. Captain, what do you know
about an organization called Section 31?

A008: I have no proof that such an organization exists.

Q009: (tightly) I see. To your knowledge, were they involved in the
 paradox you described?

A009: Assuming such an organization exists, we never determined that for
 sure.

 Q010: (angrily) That's somewhat evasive--

[Capt. Aldur's Counsel] Objection. Badgering the witness, your Honor.
 Move to strike.

 [JAG] Sustained.

Q011: My apologies, your Honor. (pauses) I'll rephrase the question.
Captain, to what (emphasis) extent was Section 31 involved in the paradox
 that we are investigating here?

A011: Assuming that such an organization exists, we never determined for
sure, Mr. Lucsly. I believe I already sa--

Q012: (loudly) Damn it, quit protecting them! Captain, we know that you
know more than you're saying h--

[Capt. Aldur's Counsel] Your Honor! I object!

[Agent Lucsly] Permission to approach the bench, your Honor.

 [JAG] Granted.

[Capt. Aldur's Counsel] Your Honor, I object to this line of questioning.
Mr. Lucsly has called half of the command staff of the Coronado to
testify, and in no way has managed to prove the existence of this so-
called (sarcasm) "Section 31." This line of questioning is spurious.
 Mr. Lucsly has no proof--

[Agent Lucsly] (quietly) Damn it, I know they were involved.

[JAG] Agent Lucsly, I'm putting an end to this line of questioning right
here and now. There's no reason to believe that there was a second party
involved in this event, and your attempts to prove otherwi--

[Agent Lucsly] Your Honor, a paradox of this type is (emphasis) impossible
without at least two incursions involved. Coronado's Jaunt drive could
(emphasis) not have triggered this al--

[JAG] Agent Lucsly, that's enough! You will not interrupt either myself
or the witness again. You will terminate this line of questioning
immediately or I shall hold you in contempt. (emphasis) Is that
 (emphasis) clear, sir?

[Agent Lucsly] (pauses) Yes, your Honor.

[JAG] The objection is sustained. Continue your questions, Agent Lucsly.

 EXCERPT ENDS.
