 Operation Rainbow Five, Day 6

 Whitestone Task Force has reached the Chynoweth system on schedule, and
 following a pitched battle with Cardassian and Jem'Hadar forces in the
 region, has driven the defending starships further back into Cardassian
 territory.  Eight converted Camelynian merchant vessels and one Camelynian
 destroyer have been lost to date, six of those ships with all hands.
 U.S.S. Invincible performed admirably in the battle, but was moderately
 damaged -- her repairs continue.  No other Federation or Romulan ships
 were more than lightly damaged. 

 Of the twelve task groups currently participating in Operation Rainbow
 Five, all but one have reached their initial objectives, meeting moderate
 resistance.  Phase two of the operation should commence four days from
 now.  Assuming all goes well, the converging fleets will meet in the
 Cardassian home system on or about Day 90.

 Though this is good news overall, unfortunately, we expect that there will
 be a counteroffensive launched within the next two days.  Whether that
 attack will fall on the Chynoweth system, or another target in either the
 Camelyn or B'narax sectors remains to be seen.  Other task groups expect
 similar counteroffensives in their areas of responsibility.

 In addition, resistance has not yet completely fallen in this system.
 There is a series of unmanned weapons platforms circling the second planet
 in the system.  Sensors are also reading a sizable Jem'Hadar garrison on
 the northern continent of this planet, apparently guarding some kind of
 facility.  The weapons platforms prevent us from approaching within
 transporter range, and seem to be receiving their operating power from the
 installation itself.

 The Whitestone Task Force is preparing a combined operation to neutralize
 the garrison and capture the facility.  It is hoped that the records
 stored there will contain tactical information that will be of use as the
 group moves further into Cardassian space.

 On a logistics note, the Mobile Repair Facilities M.R.F. Pearl and M.R.F.
 Onyx have arrived in the system, as well as their associated repair
 tenders and parts carriers.  Should Coronado or another member of the
 Whitestone group require significant repairs during the operation, we will
 have the capability to do that on the move.

 Finally, on a somewhat personal note... the presence of the Coronado senior
 officers and myself have been requested on the Camelynian flagship, the
 Hammer of Justice.
