 U.S.S. Coronado, Captain's Log, Stardate 51599.6

Starship Coronado and the other members of Task Force 2.7, including the
Romulan Warbird Bloodhawk, are still on course for the Camelyn system at
warp 5, with the Camelynian Quest Fleet in escort.

Starships Invincible and Sullivans have returned from escorting the Gorn
transport ships out of Dominion-controlled territory and back into Gorn
space... we have the Gorn ships' thanks, but not their gratitude -- it was
clear from the report of Captain Shras of the Invincible that the Gorn were
every bit as eager for a fight as the Camelynians were.

The Camelynians are the real puzzle, however. I doubt very much that my
own speech -- though impassioned and heartfelt, certainly -- had much effect
on the eventual decision of the Camelynians to withdraw from a fight they
felt was morally just, and that they certainly felt they would have won. I
told Lt. Commander DuLac that I would take peace, no matter in what guise it
came in, and that's true, certainly...

But. Why would the Camelynains withdraw from the fight? DuLac told me that
it was because the Quest Fleet had pressing business elsewhere. Even now, we
receive a new hail from their flagship, the Crusader, on an hourly basis,
asking if it is possible to increase speed. Unfortunatley, due to Spencer's
condition, that is not yet possible. But the requests keep coming, and are
 more urgently worded each time.

So, what could possibly be SO pressing at home, that the Camelynians would
withdraw from a fight with their natural enemies, an enemy they regard as
 truly evil and despicable?

Another thing that bothers me -- Prince Reginald was clearly disturbed by
the idea of putting aside his quest to return home when the idea was first
mentioned to him. Nearly an hour of discussion did not sway him in the
slightest... that is, until his son, our own Lan DuLac, was able to spend
five minutes alone with him. At that point, his resistance melted.

Prince Reginald was willing to delay his coronation to complete his Quest...
until he learned some bit of information that his son provided. And now
that he has that information, he is so desperate to return home that he is
no doubt considering leaving the stricken Spencer behind to get there. I
have attempted to talk to Lt. Commander DuLac about this matter, with very
little in the way of useful information gained, I'm afraid.

What could possibly be so awful as to cause this behavior?
