 Department of Temporal Investigations Report
 Incident #473425434  (JFK Assassination)
 Summary Report

 After a thorough investigation of this incident, a type-4 incursion was
 detected that seemed to orginate on or about Stardate 41925.6.  After
 checking Starfleet records of the time, it was discovered that while on an
 unrelated mission, a Starfleet Marine Special Ops platoon, then under the
 command of one 1st Lieutenant Marcus Grainge, interfered in the natural
 course of the Incident and somehow blocked its nominal completion.

 Further study revealed that a junior team member on Grainge's staff became
 involved in an altercation with Lee Harvey Oswald (see DTI file
 #34828301034), and in doing so, interfered with the nominal course of the
 Incident.  A team composed of myself and Agent Dulmer was sent to
 Grainge's current billet, the U.S.S. Coronado, to direct a Correction.

 Through no fault of our own, the Correction was a failure.

 Though no high-order interference with the nominal timeline was
 anticipated through this Correction, a flaw in the way it was handled
 caused a parallel timeline to come into being.  In this parallel timeline
 (see related DTI file #27940491810), multiple high-order interferences
 with the nominal timeline were detected, the most unacceptable one being
 the disillusion of the United Federation of Planets, and a political
 entity known as the Alliance of Kiwi Planets forming in its place.

 Agent Dulmer and I have ruled that this parallel timeline is unacceptable,
 and have ordered Captain Brian Aldur of the Coronado to perform a second
 Correction to undo the damage of the first.  Unfortunately, due to the
 extensive study of Incident #473425434, there are multiple type-1 and
 type-2 incursions in the surrounding area that will prevent us from simply
 intercepting our earlier attempt at Correction.

 A more direct approach is indicated, and I have instructed Aldur in the
 steps that will need to be taken.
