Captain's Log, Stardate 42995.3
After discovering seven year old debris from a Federation starship in
orbit of Barnard's Star, U.S.S. Yosemite has asked for assistance in
investigating it... especially since the debris was associated with debris
from a second starship... a Borg cube.
It is now clear why Starfleet Command ordered us to investigate the
Yosemite's find, despite the fact that we were three sectors away when the
call came in, and it took us two weeks to reach the star.
The debris is from the Coronado.
Investigating further, we discovered that there is not enough debris to
account for an entire Borg cube... or the entire U.S.S. Coronado.
However, some of the debris could have fallen into the star. In addition,
we picked up resonance traces of an unknown weapon -- high frequency,
tight frequency range, very high energy.
We have Jaunted back seven years, just prior to the battle that might very
well cost us the Coronado... and everyone aboard her. However, we have
very little choice in the matter. We simply MUST find out what a Borg
cube was doing here, more than 10 light-years from Wolf 359.
