The beginning of the next. [19:14] The asteroid-starship Xanadu is in the Regency system, one of the most strongly-held systems in Alliance space. The Camelynians will likely defend the facility to the point of insanity. We have learned that the tear will open in a matter of days, and that it will open in close proximity to Xanadu. [19:14] We have learned over the course of years that the Fourth Chamber of Xanadu is an infinitely long corridor to other places and times. This corridor ("the Way") has caused critical damage to the fabric of space- time, resulting in the tears. The tears threaten to rip apart our universe. [19:14] The Hexamon, the governing body that are the descendants of those who built Xanadu, have declared they are going to evacuate the structure, then "sunder" the Fourth Chamber: separate it from the rest of the asteroid. Once the Fourth Chamber is separated, our access to the Way will collapse. [19:14] Volunteers from Reor, Regency, and former Starfleet vessels in M64 have been volunteering to join the "Odyssey": a pilgrimage of personnel down the Fourth Chamber to sunder or destroy two other facilities with capabilities identical to Xanadu. These volunteers have been evacuating down the Way. [19:14] It is known that the Hexamon has some kind of city-sized base of operations far, far down the Way. In the meantime, preparations for the sundering have reached the critical point. The Xur are likely to interfere, and it's entirely possible that the sundering itself will open the tear... [19:14] Briefing complete. [19:14] ack [19:14] * CRXO_Tal acknowledges with a crisp salute. [19:14] ack ::dies at a ripe old age while waiting for it to finish:: [19:14] Ack [19:14] ack [19:14] ack [19:14] ack [19:14] ack [19:14] ack [19:14] ackety ack! [19:19] I'd like to you to say something one last time for Coronado, so I'll ask you this: How's it all going to turn out? ;-) [19:19] LOL [19:19] Well, first, Ironside sacrifices himself when the tar na zee infects Coronado through a remnant left in the torpedoes that Commander Farley put together. [19:19] ::grins:: [19:19] But the damage is so critical that-- well, let's find out the rest together, shall we? ;) [19:20] ... [20:38] [CoroLCARS SOUND] [20:38] +taps+ Gee thanks Colonel, ya'think? [20:38] [CoroLCARS SOUND] [20:38] ::keeps Coronado roaring in at full speed, ordering a minute amount of antimatter into the reaction chamber for a boost to their thrust as she works on their approach:: [20:38] =.\ction= A half-dozen small satellites of some kind whip out of the Fourth Chamber opening. Each is as bright as the sun as it begins twirling and beams begin spitting out of them. [20:39] ::having followed Xanadu's side, now veers away from the asteroid, putting her aft towards the hole:: [20:39] X2> How long was I out? [20:40] ::switches momentarily to torpedoes, wary of the heat the phaser couplings are building up, squarely nailing a pair of fighters and hitting a third with a proximity detonation:: [20:40] +taps+ ::wryly:: If you were here right now, I'd hit you...I don't care how big you are. ::chages focus:: Helm, what's the damn problem? [20:40] [CoroLCARS SOUND] [20:40] E> Very good, lets hope it stays that way. [20:40] TB1> ::bashes the console:: [20:40] Olmy> ::looks around:: Alicia, status report. [20:40] =.\ction= The lights come back on in the Second Chamber control center... the singularities are gone. In its place is a bright and growing brighter tube of plasma energy. [20:40] [CoroLCARS SOUND] [20:40] Make every shot count, Tactical. This is for all the... what were they? Marbles? [20:40] X2> ::curses in his native tongue, and then apparently in Trill:: I am under the impression that we should not be laying here in the dark. [20:41] [CoroLCARS SOUND] [20:41] =.\ction= A storm of fighters explode out of the First Chamber entrance. Now the Banshees, Wraiths, and Spectres are being chased by the Xur fighters... and more fighters continue to arrive, exploiting the hole created by the destruction of the Apori starfish. There are simply too many to stop them all. [20:41] [CoroLCARS SOUND] [20:42] X2> I hear a horrible rush of wind. Like someone has opened the door during a hurricane. ::reaches around for footing to get to his feet, his head aching violently:: [20:42] E> Heard anything on how the new torps are working out? [20:42] ::looks back to Savants usual hovering point:: Thanks for the heads up...::grins::...Did the Hexamon mention how long the Way will be exposed like this? [20:42] The fourth chamber is open to space. We must defend it. [20:42] Where the hell have they been hiding all these fighter's? We should have made a few more pre-emptive attacks enmasse when we had the chance. [20:43] Olmy> ::nods at Ironside:: Time for me to depart. [20:45] E> I guess it's not working to good or I would have heard by now? [20:45] ::looks at the display, then fires phasers at the front of a Xur fighter which is drawing up a firing solution on a disabled Banshee:: [20:46] =.\ction= One of Coronado's phaser beams lashes out, taking a bite out of the target's starboard side! [20:46] [CoroLCARS SOUND] [20:46] Olmy> X2> Alicia is with Savant. Only Savant can bring her back. I must go, or risk being trapped here. ::takes Drexler's arm:: Would you come with me, Captain? [20:46] E> how do ya know that it isnt working to good and they dont wanna tell you because it might cause you to do other things like that?
