Before we start I need to take care of some unfinished business from last week. Mr. Heiwa if you could get into uniform and come stand front and centre for a moment? [18:07] Well Mr. Dalton. It seems you've out done yourself once again. On behalf of myself and Captain LoraKor I here by promote you to the rank of Lieutenant with all the rights earned by such a rank. ::hands Dalton a box:: Were your new rank with pride. Contrary to what you may think I do actually like you. :) Congratulations Lieutenant. [18:09] Anyways. Seen as some of you missed last week are there any questions on the report before I proceed? [18:09] * LCSC_Tal spits out a sunflower seed shell and raises an eyebrow. She wonders just who did recommend the bartender for promotion. [18:09] Is there a briefing? ;) [18:09] There will be. :) [18:09] I guess that's a hint to get on with it huh? :) [18:09] :) [18:09] -> *corolcars* simbrief [18:09] 12=Sim Briefing!= Please type "ack" after you've read it... [18:10] 12Stardate 240007.10: "Reflections" , Part 2, by Alffred. [18:10] 12SUMMARY: Time to make a trip through the looking glass. [18:10] 12The USS Coronado arrived at Starbase 235. While there she began to undergo major repairs and some minor refitting. Captain LoraKor has taken the opportunity to attend the Annual Captains Meetings and has left Commander Bentall to oversee the repairs and the scheduling of week long shore leave for the crew. Which as usual has been disrupted by an unforseen event. [18:10] 12 Commander Bentall received some disturbing orders from Admiral Wallace of Starfleet Intelligence. Bentall, the senior crew and a Platoon of Marines have been assigned to Captain Jonathon Swift for a highly classified mission. Upon Swifts arrival he informed Bentall, Ironside and Tal that the mission would be to enter the Mirror Universe and attempt to destroy the ancient alien artifact that the Mirror Dominion planned to us [18:10] 12So after an uneventful trip to the secure docking base the crew have been told of their mission and were ordered to get some rest. Hours later, the rest over, they were up and preparing to board the borrowed Dominion Attach Ship for the trip into the mirror universe. Once all the crew were aboard and the gear stowed the disembarked for the badlands and are currently enroute. [18:10] ack (hah!) [18:10] Damn it.... [18:10] ack [18:10] ack [18:10] ack [18:10] ::ack:: [18:10] <> [18:10] ack [18:10] The end of paragraph two was this...to invade our Universe. [18:11] Alright. Any questions on the briefing? [18:11] Nossir. [18:11] No Sir [18:11] notaone [18:12] One thing before we go. As you may have noticed in the teaser I have removed the required use of the eye visors or what ever those things were so no one will be getting a headache. :) [18:12] 8,5= 0,5/\ 8,5= 12 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= SIM START =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 8,5= 0,5/\ 8,5= [18:12] <<::looks at his bottle of asprin, shrugs, and tosses it over his shoulder>> [18:13] ::stands at the back of the ship's bridge:: Mr. Dejat, how long to the badlands? [18:13] 15 minutes, sir . ::is clearly not happy to have Swift in command:: [18:13] ::looks over the tactical console:: Hm, just like the holographic interface. [18:13] Good. The moment we arrive drop from wapr and engage the cloaking device. [18:13] ::grips a pipe running from the starboard bulkhead to the ceiling and swings under it, inspecting the bridge:: Rather cramped quarters, I'd say. [18:14] ::nods from what passes as the science station:: Indeed, Major. [18:14] ::glares at Bentall for assuming the orders:: As Mr. Bentall says Mr. Dejat. [18:14] Naturally. [18:14] Major? How ready are your Marines? [18:14] ::listens with interest:: [18:14] ::tries to give Bentall a secret smirk:: [18:14] ::glares back at Swift, clearly not likeing the situation:: [18:15] ::stands silently in a corner, arms crossed:: [18:15] * LCSC_Tal idly fingers the phaser strapped to her curvacious hip. [18:15] ::attempts to figure out how to manually adjust the targeting sensors:: [18:15] ::turns to look at Major Ironside waiting for a response:: [18:15] ::releases the conduit and turns, standing straighter:: Attempting to keep from getting too many cramps in these close quarters. We're packed in a fashion similar to sardines back there. [18:16] You'll live Major. ::tosses a PADD at him:: That's the layout for the complex we will be infiltrating. I suggest you and your marines go over it. ::turns to face Dalton:: Doctor, any ideas on how we can avoid casualties on this mission? [18:17] ::chuckles:: That's what you get when you use an outdated trash bin for a ship. [18:17] ::taps on the science console:: [18:17] ::leans over to Tal:: Are you ready to set this ship up so that we cross over to the Mirror Universe? [18:17] ::grasps the PADD in mid-air and activates it, moving to a small seat tucked away near the rear of the bridge as he begins to peruse it:: [18:17] ::smirks at Swift:: My suggestion would be not to have you in command. You and your crew did, after all, try to harm us in the past. [18:17] ::walks over to behind Ironside and glances over his shoulder:: [18:18] ::nods:: Calculations are almost complete. The main deflectors and the warp field will take an additional few minutes to recalibrate. [18:18] Well isn't that peculiar. Dalton and I agree for once. [18:18] ::looks at Dejat for a second:: I'm glad to see you haven't lost your wits completely. [18:18] ::wonders if his fighter has more room:: [18:18] ::smirks at Dalton:: [18:18] ::smirks:: No, I tend to keep those about me. [18:19] ::begins scrolling through the blueprints, noting highlighted weakpoints and adding a few of his own:: [18:19] ::grins:: Come now Mr. Dalton. I thought you had more sense then that. [18:19] ::looks up from the tactical console in the rear of the bridge and looks at the exchange ben Swift and the Doctor:: [18:19] Oh, I do. Believe me, it isn't my choice to be here right now. [18:20] ::nods at Tal:: Alright. We're about three minutes out begin making your move so we are ready to transfer over on a seconds notice. [18:20] I am here against my better judgement, and because I did not choose to resign completely from Starfleet at the moment. But don't mistake that for any faith in a criminal's command abilities, Captain. [18:20] ::quietly adjusts the targeting sensors:: [18:20] Captain Swift....::beginning to highlight structural weak points in the complex:: [18:20] As to your question ... this ship has no Sickbay whatsoever. You want to avoid casualties, don't have anyone be injured. If you do, there will be heavy casualties. [18:21] ::looks up:: Recalibrations will be ready in five minutes. [18:21] ::taps away at Nav console:: [18:21] ::frowns:: I'm no criminal. If it wasn't for me you'd all be in trouble. ::decides to end the covnersation:: Commander Tal, how goes your calculations? [18:21] ::turns to look at the weapons status indicator:: bah! Dominion interfaces... ::smacks the console lightly, then attempts to find another way of reading weapon status:: [18:21] ::rolls his eyes and strolls over towards Dejat:: (q) Steal a starship, and you're a hero, that how it works in his universe? [18:21] ::holds his hand up infron of Ironside as if to say "wait a minute":: [18:22] ::glances over to Daren:: Lieutenant, I need you to ready the main poleron cannons for firing on my mark... Almost ready, Captain. [18:22] ::nods:: Good. ::turns to face the Major:: Yes Major? [18:22] ::heads closer to Dejat and Dalton:: Is it just me or is Swift a full of himself ass? [18:22] What is the structural composition of this 'artifact'? Can it be broken easily? [18:23] ::shrugs:: (q) Perhaps. Then again, where I come from, we would've shot him already. ::looks up at Bentall:: May we do so? [18:23] ::turns to Tal:: You've got it...just need to- ::smacks ths console once more:: AH! there we are...I suppose you need the Jem'hadar touch. Canons ready Commander! [18:23] Is outright destruction necessary, or is it enough to simply shatter it? [18:23] ::nods after a moment to think:: As I understand it it's not much more then a rock with special powers. [18:23] ::grins as she programs in the frequency modulations for the various components that must work together to allow multiverse crossover:: [18:23] <> [18:24] ::nods, then goes back to highlighting structural weak points, at the same time preparing various entry and exit points, including various contingency plans:: [18:24] ::smiles at the thought:: Unfortunatley no. As long as he doesn't do anything out of ordinary for this mission I have to follow his orders. ::glances back at Swift with an odd look:: [18:24] ::looks at Bentall:: Why did you agree to work for this ... ::gives Swift a bad look:: specialist? [18:24] (q) I didn't say we'd do it during the mission. [18:25] ::frowns:: I didn't really have much of a choice. Once he got us off the Starbase we were pretty much at his mercy. [18:25] ::crosses his arms:: Give me five minutes empathic contact with his mind ... he'll be at mine. [18:25] ::smiles at Bentall:: Just ... something to keep in mind, sir. [18:25] ::looks up:: Deflectors charging, warp fields recalibrated, and poleron frequencies set. Whenever we're ready, we can go. [18:25] ::turns and walks to the other side of the bridge:: [18:25] ::nods:: I will keep that in mind Mr. Dalton. [18:26] ::smirks, for once liking Dalton's abilities:: [18:26] Mr. Dejat? Time to arrival? [18:27] Now, actually. ::drops the ship out of warp as he says it:: [18:27] ::walks over to Daren and stands next to him, wordlessly:: [18:27] Good. Ms. Tal, Anytime your ready. Activate the cloaking device. [18:28] ::notes a series of munitions storage rooms in the complex and assigns placement of tri-cobalt explosives to those, as well as the artifact itself, and the noted structural weak points of the complex:: [18:28] I believe it's about time to cloak. [18:28] ::reviews course settings and verifies their position:: [18:28] ::nods to the uniformed bartender and smiles:: Any beverage replicators on this thing? :) [18:28] ::nods at Daren:: Fire poleron cannon at the following coordinates... ::feeds the coordinates to Daren:: [18:28] There are barely toilets, Mr. Daren. [18:28] And horrible decor. [18:28] <> [18:28] ::leans over to Tal:: Is our modulation going to match their universe once we get there? [18:28] Aye commander. ::adjusts controls and fires:: Firing Canons! [18:28] ::turns around and looks at Swift:: I guess you've never heard of the Treaty of Algernon, Mr. Swift. [18:29] <> [18:29] <> [18:29] << sorry :) >> [18:29] Actually Mr. Dalton I have. It's been suspended in this case. When we return feel free to investigate. [18:29] ::without looking up:: Perhaps you'd like to be posted as the chief interior decorator as well, Mr. Dalton. [18:29] ::activates the cloaking device and the bridge lights dim:: [18:30] ::glances from Dalton to Ironside:: [18:30] ::eyebrows arch at the mention of "suspending" the Romulan/Federation treaty, as if it were nothing:: [18:30] ::nods:: Activating main deflector, and adjusting our warp fields for incursion. We'll appear to be one of theirs. [18:30] Hmm ... no. It seems what you need is someone to remind you of Federation laws. [18:30] You and our dear captain seem to have forgotten them ... [18:30] ::leans over to Daren:: (q) What's the point of signing treaties if you never follow them? [18:30] Good. Glad to see some of us are thinking ahead. ::shoots a meaningful glance at Swift:: [18:30] ::places entry and exit points, along with projected mission times and waypoint arrivals.:: [18:31] Now, we just engage the warp engines and fly into the vortex created by the polaron beam and the deflector. [18:31] ::smiles:: (q) Whats the point of obeying the laws of physic as well? ::grins:: [18:31] <> [18:31] ::whirls to face Dalton:: When the security of the entire confederation is at stake we must learn to temporarily suspend some laws. I'm from the universe we are about to enter. Believe me when I say you should think yourself lucky that you have a chance to be part of a great victory. [18:31] What do I look like, a Klingon? [18:32] ::gives the mission plan a final once over, then lifts it up over his shoulder to hand it to tr'Onto:: Look that over for me please, Lieutenant. [18:32] You should think yourself lucky that any of us were persuaded to join you on this fool's errand. [18:32] ::nods at the crew:: Captain Swift is correct... sometimes laws prevent us from doing what is right. [18:32] Captain, might I suggest you calm yourself before you prove yourself unfit for duty? [18:32] Aye sir. ::takes the PADD and closes his eyes:: [18:32] ::glances up at Dalton:: Mr. Dalton, the cloaking device is going to be in use in an alternate dimension. I don't believe the treaty of Algeron applies there. [18:32] ::frowns at Tal:: Spoken like a true Romulan. [18:32] Of course not. It applies here. [18:33] That is what I was referring to. [18:33] ::glares at Dalton:: No, spoken like a true daughter of my father. [18:33] That's be enough of that Mr. Dejat. I for one understand the need for the mission I just don't like the way it came about. But what can you expect from Admiral Wallace and Starfleet Intelligence. [18:33] Well, you can expect not to come back from the missions, generally. [18:33] ::looks up from the console:: Gentlemen, all ranks aside but the fact remains that we are all currently in hostile territory and in order to get back out we will need full cooperation between all of our talents and above all, silence in which to perform them ::silently goes back to his work on the weapons:: [18:33] ::turns to Bentall and Swift:: We are ready. I suggest we begin. [18:34] ::grins to himself gently:: [18:34] But of course ... our captain has already guaranteed us a glorious victory ... ::stops while Daren talks:: So I'm sure we'll be fine. [18:34] ::glances at each member of the bridge crew:: This is not a democracy folks. Get it together. Your lives and the lives of those you care about are hanging in the balance. [18:34] Says who, you? [18:34] Stand down, Mr. Dalton. [18:34] 12=.\ction= The Bridge and corridor lighting returns to normal as the ship's alert status changes to 3,1 green . [18:34] [CoroLCARS SOUND] [18:34] <> [18:35] ::ignores the Major:: Starfleet Intelligence? Captain, I actually trust you more than Starfleet Intelligence. [18:35] ::hands the PADD back:: I disagree with a few of the weak points, but overall the layout seems simple enough. Memorized and ready. Orders? [18:35] And that's saying something. [18:35] ::looks around and wonders when the order to get underway will come:: [18:35] Starfleet is Starfleet, Lieutenant, and you're walking a fine line of insubordination. [18:35] Starfleet intelligence acting on orders from the Confederation's Presidents Office Mr. Dalton. Engage Ms. Tal. Let's get going. ::tosses a PADD to Dejat:: Those are your coordinate once we arrive in the other universe. [18:35] ::gives Ironside his most disdainful look, and wipes a fake tear from his eye:: [18:36] ::turns to Tal and mirrors her gaze:: [18:36] ::activates the main deflectors:: Fire polaron beams, Mr. Daren. [18:36] ::looks at Dalton:: Look Lieutenant. I no you don't like this but we have to do it. We are officers in a military organization. I've already logged my complaints with Starfleet. [18:36] ::stands by to engage and enter the rift:: [18:36] ::hits the fire control:: Firing Polaron beams! [18:37] ::takes the PADD back from tr'Onto and glances at it for a couple of moments, adding additional placements of tri-cobalt devices to the complex and handing it back:: Deliver this to the platoon and have them go over it repeatedly until they can do it in their sleep. [18:37] ::watches her controls:: Engage warp engines in twn seconds, Mr. Dejat. [18:37] <> [18:37] ::shrugs:: I'm not trying to stop anyone. [18:37] Apparently some people don't like the images they have in their minds of being such pristeen upright moral people being challenged. ::smiles at Ironside:: [18:37] Standing by on ten seconds. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six... Five...Four...Three...Two...One...mark! Engaging ::engages the warp drive:: [18:37] 12=.\ction= The Coronado's enginges engage, and the frigate flashes to warp! [18:38] ::gives Bentall a sad smile:: (q) Unfortunately, that requires us surviving this mission. [18:39] Forty-seven seconds... mark! [18:39] ::frowns:: Aye, it does. And if I have my way we will. ::mutters to himself:: Just not the way you think.... [18:39] ::frowns, feeling the deck starting to shake:: Getting a little rough, isn't it? [18:39] What did you expect Major? A luxury cruise? [18:40] ::nods:: The effects are similar to a wormhole transition. [18:40] Emerging in twelve seconds. [18:40] ::glares at Swift:: Captain, might I suggest you watch your tone with my crew? [18:40] ::glances at Bentall and shakes his head slightly:: [18:40] Until this mission is over Jarod, this is my crew. [18:40] Now now, sir. The Major can take care of himself. [18:40] Aye Sir. [18:40] We're clear. [18:40] ::looks up at Swift as he utters that statement:: [18:41] Status Mr. Daren? [18:41] He gives it out, he certainly can take it. [18:41] ::throws a dark stare at Swift:: [18:41] ::activates long-range scanners:: [18:42] Tactical sensors show nothing, ::reluctantly:: Sir. No ships in the area [18:42] ::raises an eyebrow and looks at Swift:: [18:42] Good. Engage on your course Mr. Dejat. It's a five hour trip at Warp 9. [18:42] ::turns to fix Swift with a rather piercing glare, then turns back:: We're en route. [18:43] Shall I re-engage the cloaking device....Captain? [18:43] Yes Lieutenant. [18:43] ::nods to his Commander:: Aye sir [18:43] ::raises an eyebrow at Bentall's order:: [18:43] ::glares at Bentall again but remains silent:: [18:43] Sorry Captain. ::tries to hide his growing smile:: [18:44] ::switches the modified cloaking device and powers it up:: Engaging cloaking device! [18:44] ::looks up and watches the lights dim again, wondering for the umpteenth time whether or not it's really necessary:: [18:44] ::turns to look at everyone:: I suggest those of you who don't have anything important to do should get some rest. In five hours we'll be in the thick of the Dominion Fleet. [18:45] Does that mean you'll be getting some rest, Captain? [18:45] ::hopes the remark isn't lost on the crew:: [18:45] ::stifles a laugh:: [18:45] ::smiles sarcastically:: Oh sure, I'll be in the lounge [18:45] Yes I will mr. Dejat. But in a moment or two. Major a word with you please. [18:45] ::smiles at Dejat sits down in a chair and quitely watches the bridge:: [18:45] ::glances at Swift, then at Bentall:: [18:46] ::shrugs:: [18:46] ::approaches Swift, releasing the conduit:: [18:46] ::smiles at Bentall:: Look at that. Nixon's found his Ehrlichmann. [18:46] ::heads over to a corner were no one will overhear them:: [18:46] ::grins:: Care for a game of chess Mr. Dalton while we wait? [18:46] ::attempts to catch commander Bentall's eye while Swift is away for a bit:: Commander? [18:46] Sure, but only if I get to be black. [18:47] Oh now this should be entertaining. [18:47] * LCSC_Tal begins running scans, hoping to learn as much as she can about this universe for Starfleet Intelligence. [18:47] ::follows Swift, crossing his arms as they come to a stop:: Sir? [18:47] ::returns his attention to his console not really liking what he had heard:: [18:47] Major, now that we are in my universe I need to share some information with you. I have reason to believe that your Commander Bentall is in fact the Bentall from this universe. [18:47] ::walks over to Tal:: If this were a Romulan ship, that Captain Swift would be dead. [18:47] Yes Mr. Daren? [18:48] ::grins at Dalton and activates the chess game on his PADD:: [18:48] Sir, this console is not exactly like the one provided for me in the mission report...I am afraid Swift may not be totally truthfull with us. [18:48] ::arches an eyebrow and refrains from shifting his eyes to look at Bentall:: And this reason would be? [18:48] Wow, now there's a surprise. [18:48] ::glares at tr'Onto:: If this were a Romulan ship, his orders would not be questioned because of personal problems with his approach to matters. [18:48] Just something to keep in mind Commander, for now I can manage the controls [18:48] ::nods:: Make due with what you have Mr. Daren. I've got a bad feeling about this. [18:49] Ah, I forgot. You served in the Galae, right? Things were different on Rei'Krannsu ships. [18:49] Admiral Wallace has it on good authority that the Bentall in prison back home has said some things to proof he is actually the real Bentall. Things that the Mirro Bentall couldn't possibly no. I trust Wallace with my life so I'm inclined to believe him. [18:50] ::looks at Dalton:: Ready? [18:50] Oh, yes. [18:50] ::moves a pawn forward two spaces in his opening move, glancing at Swift and Ironside nervously:: [18:51] ::purses his lips slightly:: Well Captain, I'm afraid I don't trust Admiral Wallace as you do....::glances back at the bridge:: However, I think it might be prudent to see if this is the Mirror Bentall, whether or not he's done his homework. [18:51] ::replies in kind, standard king's pawn opening:: [18:51] ::nods:: Let's wait till we get closer to our destination. In the meantime keep an eye on him. [18:51] <> [18:52] <> [18:52] ::nods at tr'Onto:: Yes... it was quite an experience. Oh well}} [18:53] ::decides to go with a more risky gambit than a normal closed game: [18:54] Captain... ::glances back down at her console:: I need to modify the warp fields again. It appears that our quantum signature is in a slight degree of flux. [18:54] ::uncrosses his arms and moves back towards his seat near the rear of the bridge:: [18:55] 12=.\ction= The five hours pass uneventful and the ship arrives at the edge of the system where the complex is... [18:55] Status Mr. Daren. How many ships are out there. [18:55] ::pushes the PADD one final time, with a yawn:: Checkmate. [18:55] * LCSC_Tal continues tweaking the warp fields as she has for nearly five hours. [18:55] ::groans:: That's the 5th game in a row Mr. Dalton. I thought I was better then that. [18:57] ::looks up from the tactical station:: I'm reading, ::does a double take:: the computer shows nearly 50,000 vessels in the system [18:57] Don't be too hard on yourself. I learned quite a bit from a Bajoran grandmaster during my time there. [18:57] ::can't help but raise his eyebrows:: Fifty thousand? [18:57] Reading various classes and various designs [18:57] ::whistles:: That's nearly the entire fleet. [18:57] They must be getting ready to go. We need to get this done. [18:57] ::mutters:: They won't need a bloody artifact.... [18:58] They must real want to protect this system [18:58] What are we supposed to do against 50,000? [18:58] They must really want to invade our universe. [18:58] Yes they do Major. This Artifact will get all of those ships into your universe all at once. [18:58] Nothing Mr. Dalton. Not a damn thing. We're here to take out the artifact. [18:58] They don't have the same combined might as the Dominion did when it attacked from the Gamma Quadrant 25 years ago. [18:59] I'm reading some intermitten waves of tachyron radiation toward the edge of the system ::relays the cooridinates to the helm:: Commander Dejat I suggest we stear clear of that area if we wish to keep our cloak [18:59] Then again, they have surprise on their side, the Dominion did not. [18:59] ::nods:: I hear you, Lieutenant. [18:59] No... they're at least at least 5 times more powerful... [18:59] The Dominion didn't attack with 50 000 vessels at the same time either, Commander... [18:59] Points taken, Commander and Major. [18:59] These ships would take outthe Dominion from your Universe. [18:59] ::musing quietly:: The simple destruction of an artifact won't stop them... they'll find other means [19:00] Captain...::sighs:: [19:00] ::glances back at tr'Onto:: And we'll find means to stop them, Lieutenant. Try to be a little optimistic. [19:00] ::nods at the 2nd Lieutenant:: Very true but it will delay them. [19:00] Perhaps. But people who want something badly can be very resourceful. [19:00] ::looks around nervously and starts fidgeting with his uniform:: [19:00] All I'm saying, sir, is that given this chance, I would have thought Starfleet would have also have come up with a way to at least dent that fleet. [19:01] Uh... Captain Swift? [19:01] Not enough time. By doing this we will creat the time. Yes Ms. Tal? [19:01] ::looks over as Tal attmpts to get someone's attention:: [19:01] ::smirks at Dalton:: I'd think that since you want to save your own hide so badly Mr. Dalton, you'd be resourceful enough to get rid of them by yourself. [19:01] I'm still haveing troubles with the ship's quantum signature... if we can't get it to stabilize, we may be in danger of detection if we happen to decloak. [19:02] ::gives Ironside a look:: There's more than one way to save one's hide. Like ... joining the winning team. [19:02] ::muttering:: Just sabotage the khlee artifact... [19:02] and then boom... [19:02] ::glances back at the viewscreen:: Treason, Mr, Dalton? Even I thought you weren't capable of that. [19:02] ::nods:: We better get on with this then. Major Ironside, prepare to beam down with your platoon. Mr. Bentall, Daren and myself will be joining you. Mr. Dejat and Ms Tal will reamin here along with Mr. Dalton. Let's get moving folks. [19:02] Treason? I'd never betray Ullia Prime. [19:03] ::wonders if there were odds on this mission:: [19:03] Oh good, I can stay here. ::scowls at Swift's back:: [19:03] ::glances to Dejat:: Just you and me, Fornan? Oh, this should prove fun... [19:03] ::looks up and hands the station over to another officer:: [19:03] That's right, helmboy. We need you to fly what few people remain the hell outta here. [19:03] ::rises and pulls a phaser from under his tunic. Not so fast Swift. I'm finally home and I won't let you do this..... [19:03] ::grins at Tal:: Indeed, Velorna. It's been a while. [ [19:03] ::heads down the corridor towards the few sections of the ship where the marines and the gear have been stowed, intending to get his combat gear on:: [19:04] ::pulls out her own phaser and levels it at Bentall:: [19:04] Ah hell...::whips around, his PPP levelled at Bentall's head across the room:: [19:04] ::looks to Bentall and grabs the phaser at his side...not sure where to point it:: [19:04] ::also draws a pair of disruptors:: [19:04] My goodness. [19:04] ::turns at Bentall's voice and starts to rise:: [19:04] ::looks:: Major? [19:04] ::frowns, looking up:: I knew you'd become a lot more interesting lately. [19:04] ::whirls to stare at the phaser in Bentall's hand:: Put it down Jarod, we don't want to have to kill you. [19:04] ::blinks:: I see. ::whips out his compressor phaser from no where and levels it at Bentall:: [19:04] ::draws a bead on Bentall's forehead, the setting at level 3:: It's the mirror Bentall, gentlemen. [19:05] Well, this is interesting... [19:05] ::rolls his eyes:: No kidding? [19:05] Yes. And if he'd like to kill Swift, he's free to do so. He'll die soon after. [19:05] Well, I say we keep him. He's far more interesting than our version. [19:05] ::looks at Bentall:: The mirror indeed. ::aims his phaser:: [19:05] ::pulls out another object:: I suggest you put those down gentlmen. I've wired your tri-cobalt explosivs to blow this ship up if you don't do exactly what I say. [19:05] Have you now? [19:05] Oh ... and I was starting to like you so. [19:05] Major, keep an eye on him ::smirks and moves to a panel and begins chopping through systems:: [19:05] ::glances at Dejat:: Thanky for the vote of confidence Commander. [19:06] I'll give you one chance Bentall. Drop it. [19:06] ::keeps her pahser trained on Bentall:: Are you faster than a phaser beam, Jarod? [19:06] Well, if you'll all excuse me, I think I'd like to beam off this ship now. ::smiles:: [19:06] ::glances at Dalton:: {{Lieutenant, I think this would be one time when I wouldn't be opposed to the use of your telepathic abilities}} [19:06] He's probably got a dead-man's switch, Commander.... [19:06] ::waves and backs away:: [19:06] ::tries to slowly move out from behind the tactical station while Bentall and Swift trade words:: [19:06] Oh, Mr. Bentall ... I want you to think about something while I'm gone. [19:07] ::stands very still, overloading Bentall's brain with empathic noise:: [19:07] Well ... if you can still form coherent thoughts, that it. [19:07] << is >> [19:07] ::struggles:: Stop..... it...... ::moves the phaser to point at Dalton:: [19:07] ::ducks behind a console:: [19:07] Hello! This kind of thing goes easier when the victim is unconscious! [19:07] * LCSC_Tal feels the residual bleed off of Dalton's empathic attack. [19:07] ::steps away from the console he's working at:: I...can't disarm his weapons. [19:08] ::moves like lightning towards Bentall, firing his pistol twice and hitting Bentall directly in the chest, grabbing the detonator before it can slip from his grasp:: [19:08] ::opens fire on the mirror Bentall:: [19:08] * LCSC_Tal fires her hand pahser. [19:08] <> [19:08] ::adds his own, more yellow beam into the mix, its noise a distinctive higher pitch than the others:: [19:08] ::collapses in a heap, the device skids across the bulkhead:: [19:08] ::stands up:: Oh yah, that's much easier. [19:08] ::adjusts his uniform:: [19:08] ::grabs the device:: Its set to explode... [19:08] ::glances at the device in his hand, wondering if he's managed to hold down the correct button:: [19:08] ::frowns:: Nice work everyone. [19:08] Dalton! Try to focus more next time... ::heaves a sigh:: I felt that! [19:08] ::clears his through:: Well, now that he's out of the way...his weapons are disarmed. [19:09] Calm yourself, Daren, it has nothing to trigger. The TCDs are all off-line. [19:09] ::gives Tal a look:: Consider it a chastisement for siding with Swift. ::slight smile:: [19:09] ::gestures at the console and grins:: I lied. [19:09] ::claps twice:: Wonderful, Mr. Dejat. [19:09] ::nods and pockets the phaser:: Ok, so how do we find OUR Bentall? [19:09] ::gives Dalton a silent snarl:: [19:09] ::looks at Dejat then the Major:: First of all I;d like to apologize for my rude behaviour. But I needed to draw him out and it worked. [19:10] Simple, Mr. Daren. We go pick him up from jail. [19:10] Oh, so this wasn't just a bad personality? [19:10] Bad! He was far more interesting, if you asked me. [19:10] ::nods:: But we also need to stop this invasion force, what is our priority? [19:10] He even promoted me! What's not to like ... [19:10] The artifact, of course, Mr. Daren. [19:11] The real Bentall is alive and well in Starfleet custody. He will be freed upon our return home. Speaking of which. Major? Care to get your boys ready to roll? [19:11] ::nods:: That would be prudent. [19:11] I meant Swift, Dalton. [19:11] Ohh ... right. [19:11] ::holsters his sidearm and begins moving towards the corridor again:: I'm on it, Captain. I don't feel like sticking around with this finicky cloaking device any longer than I have to. [19:11] ::smiles:: [19:11] ::smirks:: [19:11] Now, I believe you were all going down to the surface, leaving Velorna and myself to terrorize the ship. [19:11] Not so, Mr. Dejat. I'm staying here as well, per the captain's orders. [19:12] ::holsters her phaser and grins:: [19:12] And you saw what I did to Mr. Bentall ... so let's try to play nice, hmm? [19:12] Then the three of us ::smirks:: [19:12] ::smiles at Tal and Dejat:: Good luck to you! [19:12] ::nods at Daren:: And to you. [19:12] We've got ten minutes to get ready. I'll stay on the bridge until then. [19:13] ::exits the bridge picking up his equipment:: [19:13] ::reaches under the tactical console and grabs a few emergency supplies:: [19:13] ::offers a salute to Daren:: [19:14] ::steps over to Ironside and offers his hand:: Come back in one piece, Major. [19:14] ::re-emerges onto the bridge several minutes later in the medium combat 'hard suit', helmet tucked under his shoulder, ammo bandolier around his torso, and M2-43 Plasma Pulse Rifle slung over his shoulder:: [19:14] ::looks over at Daren:: Report? [19:14] ::runs to the console:: [19:14] ::looks at the data:: Sir...I'm reading transwarp signatures...many of them [19:14] ::grasps Dejat's dejat, smirking ever so slightly:: Haven't come back in pieces yet, Commander. [19:14] ::frowns:: What from? [19:14] ::looks over the data:: [19:14] ::glances back at Daren:: Not.....Borg? [19:15] ::glances at her science and intell console:: Ships, I would imagine... [19:15] ::smiles ruefully:: Aye, make new habits. [19:15] ::turns to the commotion:: [19:15] <> [19:15] Sir, now reading nearly one thousand borg cubes, three times the size of the cubes I am used to Sir [19:15] ::blinks:: Three times? That's over 70 cubic kilometers! [19:15] .....guess we were just in time for the party. [19:15] ::looks up:: Its not a sensor ghost...checks come back positive [19:15] ::groans:: I was afraid of that. How far out from us are they? [19:15] ::raises an eyebrow:: I believe that it's time to get out of here. [19:16] Estimated time to our cooridates, 30 minutes! [19:16] And let the Borg get that artifact? That would be worse than the Imperials! [19:16] The Borg are already in our universe, or have you forgotten? [19:16] No Ms. Tal. No more then ever we need to finsih our mission. We have thirty minutes. Drop the cloak, beam the team down, raise the cloak. I'll be staying aboard. Now go. [19:16] ::groans:: Are the borg as malevolant in this universe Captain> [19:17] ::makes a motion to the one thousand Borg cubes, obviously significantly more powerful than the ones in their own universe:: Perhaps, but not like that, and not all at once. [19:17] Mr. Dalton, these borg would eat your borg for breakfast. No Mr. Daren they are far, far worse.
