[18:05] 12Stardate 239911.01: "Dead Reckoning" , Part 2, by Jester. [18:05] 12SUMMARY: The future is not all it's cracked up to be... [18:06] 12Following our mission into Klingon space, Coronado returned to Federation space on the orders of one Vice Admiral Brian Aldur. Coronado had been selected to participate in a unique series of propulsion tests centering around her slipstream propulsion system. Lt. Commander Reckoning, one of the designers of the slipstream drive, boarded the ship to assist in conducting the tests. [18:06] 12Commander Reckoning theorized that it is possible to make the slipstream drive system even more efficient using "currents" that exist in the quantum realm that Coro enters when she engages her slipstream drive. She further theorized that catching such a current would increase the transit speed through the conduit. Once Reckoning was aboard, Coro went to slipstream and began scanning for such a current. [18:06] 12We found such a current without difficulty; however, deploying probes to scan the current apparently caused Coro to be drawn into it. The slipstream drive was disrupted by a phase variance, and Lt. Dejat was only just successful in extracting us from the drive safely. Unfortunately, instead of moving faster, we appear to have travelled 87 years into the future! Worse yet, Reckoning collapsed and is confirmed to be in a coma..
