Since the discovery of the former Coronado crew member known as Shar, his most high profile kill to date, he had decided to disappear for awhile.
A week had passed and it was time for another kill.
But who? Who from Coronado's roster would be the lucky person?
That was a couple of hours ago. Now he was sitting cross-legged on the floor of a small apartment closet waiting for the tenant to return home.
The tenant was a Marine 1st Lieutenant assigned to USS Coronado but currently on two weeks shore leave. 1st Lieutenant Greg Smith was about to leave this world for good.
Only he didn't know it yet.
An hour after Smith returned home the killer quietly left the apartment. He killed Smith the way he had killed all the others. And as usual he left without being seen.
It would be a full week before Smith's neighbours noticed the smell emenating from the apartment. If Smith had been a little more social they may have discovered the body sooner.
Smith's name was added to the list. It was getting to a point that the majority of the public would find out about the killing spree and the investigators wouldn't be able to do anything to stop it.
The killer had a new target in mind. One that would push this case into the open. He wanted his prime target to know he was coming. But he wasn't ready yet. He couldn't risk being discovered so soon.
With that thought he wandered off into the darkness.
