Path to War Commodore William Daren never particularly enjoyed war. From his time at the Academy however, it had sadly been a necessary part of his life. He was molded many years ago into a bright, young Tactical officer. He was skilled at fighting, and often turned to violence as a means to an end, but he never truly enjoyed it the way others he knew seemed to. With the appearance of the anomaly only days away, and the Xur encircling the rift’s future location war seemed increasingly imminent. For days, Commodore Daren held meeting after meeting. From the CIC to the Conference Room to his own Ready Room, he met with those officers on the ship that like him had been part of many battles. Their key focus: breaking up the Xur hold on the area so that the Wraith Liberator, piloted by Tebrun Lora Kor, could find it’s way to the anomaly and seal it. Daren was convinced that if they could somehow get one or two of the Carriers to break formation, a hold big enough would be formed in their lines. And then there was the distant star discovered recently being used by the Xur to bring their ships into and out of the region. In only a matter of hours, this one system saw a lot of Xur traffic. He set the PADD he was holding down on the console and transferred the information on it to an ansible connection. With a few more keystrokes it was gone. The call had been made. He needed more ships if this mission were to succeed. Without a dedicated “Admiral” network in place, Daren took it upon himself to make the call. He asked all “willing ships” to answer the call by presenting themselves at Coronado’s location as soon as they could. A plan was being put into action, and he needed all the help he could get.
