Vogel was in his quarters, resting from a day of work in Sickbay, when a call came in from sickbay: +TAPS+ "Sickbay to Vogel, we have a problem." Vogel took a few moments to search for his combadge as he had taken it off when removing the outer coat of his uniform. He found it and put the overcoat on, tapping it +TAPS+ "Vogel here. What's the problem, sickbay?" +TAPS+ "Something is going wrong in Seventh Heaven" +TAPS+ "Understood, I'm on my way. Have a medical team meet me there." Vogel grabbed his medkit and phaser and left his quarters. Turning left down the corridor, he jogged to the turbolift, putting the phaser in his holster and swinging the med kit over his shoulder mid run. He reached the turbolift and the doors swung open. Seventh Heaven he commanded the computer. As the computer complied and the turbolift began a rapid descent, he tried to find out what was going on. +TAPS+ "Vogel to Seventh Heaven, what's going on?" A crewman in there responded: +TAPS+ "Doctor, you'd better get here. It's Farley. He's ....." The communcation was abruptly silenced as the turbolift reached its destination. Vogel ran down the hall, and reached the outer doors of Seventh Heaven pausing in front. Inside, he noticed Farley holding a hand phaser, with a wounded crewmember. He began shouting across Seventh Heaven: "NO! They won't get me! I won't let them! The phfor! Hunters, Hounds, Brains they're everywhere. They're going to kill me, I know it. You are all going to betray me to them." The crew captured remained hiding under tables and were looking for anything for cover. Vogel turned back, as to not be seen: +TAPS+ "Vogel to Security, we have a hostage situation in Seventh Heaven." He paused a moment and tried something: +TAPS+ "Vogel to Transporter Room 1, lock onto Farley's signal in Seventh Heaven and beam him directly to the Sickbay." The transporter chief attempted but replied shortly afterward: +TAPS+ "Ensign, no can do. He isn't wearing a combadge and he's activated some kind of transport inhibitor. However, I am detecting lifesigns and a combadge from a crewman in the center of the room. He seems injured" "+TAPS+ Beam him to Sickbay" Just then, Lieutenant Marcy arrived with 2 security officers, all three of them armed. He looked at Vogel and asked for a report. "Lieutenant, Commander Farley is inside there armed. He seems to have a number of hostages and is clearly demonstrating altered mental status so I don't believe he controls any of this. We evacuated the injured crewman but he could fire again. What do you suggest?" |
