Maiko gazed at herself in the mirror, pleased at the dress she had chosen. The fabric, which started out see-thru at the train, became more opaque as it rose towards the knees. From there it clung flatteringly to her figure, without being too sensual, before ending above her chest in a strapless design. Her hair, which she had allowed to grow long, was neatly braided down the back. She had opted to forgo the traditional veil, lest she manage to trip in the heels. Learning how to walk had been rough enough. Learning how to walk in high heels had been a little harder, and she'd been forced to compromise with lower heels so she would stay upright. She had spent the entire morning going over the last minute preparations. The bridesmaids all had their matching gowns, and Maiko had seen to it that the maid of honor was ready. There was little left to worry over... The door chime interrupted her calming thoughts. "Enter." The form that filled the door brought tears to Maiko's eyes as she ran towards him and embraced him, almost sending them both to the floor. Through the tears, she could be heard saying the same word, over and over...
