Karen was busy. Not that she wasn't always busy in one way or another. Her head was always filled with calculations for various things, as she preferred to do the work she needed to od in her head whenever she could. Which wasn't as often as she'd like, but it was enough. She was a practical sort of scientist however, and she had dismissed the thoughts of her work to focus on the problem at hand - the Klingons. She had managed to route communications into sickbay in amidst the chaos following their arrival., and was using it to contact Engineering and if she could, Churchill. There was as of yet no reply, but she hadn't the connection for a long time now - she wasn't willing to write them off yet. A good potrtion of her mind was occupied with connecting the communications, and a large amount of the remainder was focused ont he tactical situation. It was looking grim, especially witht he klingons getting ready to use the transporter more than likely. She was working on solving that as well - while waiting for the communiques to return she had begun work on an annular confinement beam destabilizer, which she hoped would cut off any transports as soon as they began. Directing that device was still being troublesome, but she was confident that it woudl be solved. The remainder of her mind was fairly fractured. These strangers seemed to be on their side, but their arrival wasn't a co-incidence. one of them even looked familiar. She wasn't prepared to confront them yet, unless something came up, but once this was over there would be questions. A *lot* of questions. |
