Something of an experiment...I highly recommend reading this on the html log system...there is no telling what the hell it is going to look while being sent out in email. ;-) Enjoy... -------- EXT. – Xanadu’s Starless Interior. Begin with a sweeping shot of MRF Onyx floating in the zero-g environment of Xanadu. The singularities fill the background as the camera rotates around the facility. The focus shifts from Onyx to USS Coronado, where it has been docked for several weeks undergoing repairs. The ship appears completely intact. DAREN (V.O.) Captain’s Log: Stardate 240305.31, the investigation into the accident that caused the death of Rear Admiral Lora Kor continues. My full staff is working around the clock, perhaps more furiously then they have ever worked, on this investigation. The shot of Coronado moves over the saucer section and descends to the hull around the Engineering section. INT. – Main Engineering, USS Coronado. CLOSE ON: The warp core, not it’s usual vibrant and pulsating self. It is instead motionless and dark, the echoes of a little understood tragedy fill the air around it. DAREN (V.O.) Our warp core remains powered down since the accident. We are currently getting whatever extra power we need from Onyx until I deem the investigation complete, and find that whatever happened earlier will not happen again. Zoom out from the warp core, filling the screen with more and more of Main Engineering. The focus shifts to the right of the warp core, the large blackened area of the carpeting and burned railing show this as the scene of the accident. The immediate area is cleared away and barren. DAREN (V.O.) The loss still weights heavily on the hearts and minds of the crew. I need not be empathic to feel that. Tebrun Lora Kor wasn’t simply the Admiral along for the ride like most Flagships. He was the Captain of this vessel. His leadership was always a welcomed part of our daily routine. The investigation will continue. Further pull back from the accident site to reveal engineering officers at their post, science officers continuing scans, and biological molecular residue being collected by medical technicians. An engineering technician hands something to Commander Farley. The shot dissolves into the next scene. INT. - Sickbay, USS Coronado Doctor Reed is sitting in his office reading over the results of a recent medical analysis. He looks a bit perplexed. Patients have filled Sickbay and Doctor Dyson is busy taking readings and samples from them. DAREN(V.O.) Concurrently, many on the ship have begun complaining that their surroundings are somewhat different than what the remember them to be. Dyson scans Helm Officer Lieutenant D’Rall with a medical tricorder, particularly focused on the woman’s brain. DAREN(V.O) My helmsman, Maiko D’Rall for example during her shift on the bridge mentioned that a console was out of place. I later learned this type of problem cropping up in the minds of many on the ship. Those affected have been reporting to Sickbay to be scanned and data collected. In his office, Reed switches the reading the analysis of another patient. The shot dissolves into the next scene. INT. – Main Bridge, USS Coronado Captain William Daren steps out of the turbolift and walks slowly along the bridge stations. He’s not his usual witty self, instead a more serious and a somber version. DAREN(V.O.) In the meantime, we wait. I wait. At what point do we give up and move on with our lives? At what point do we allow the events of the past to sink in and become reality? I don’t know the answer. These mysteries, like those of out past, will be resolved, and this ship will go on. Daren, with his hands at his sides, quietly takes a seat in the Command Chair.
